I'm not affiliated to London,but please have some compassion for the likes of Dingo and Lovejoy.
They have through their own freewill and certainly their own time provided us with as much information as they
see fit.
It would be great if it was what we all wanted to hear,but the reality is some career defining decisions lie ahead.
I feel like Teebs,very frustrated and dis-illusioned,but respect to London divisions,who have not neccesarily got a
seperate deal,but stood firm and actually demanded action on 'local' issues.
We should all be more scathing of our own branches/divisions who have painted a much rosier picture.
Royal mail must now have a mental map of co-operative regions,that will be the first to suffer in the new year.

The other point about London is, correct me if I am wrong, 95% FT and 5% PT.Historically this is to do with problems of recruitment, but it obviously is a factor today.No I am not in London.

What full update? The PEC have not called for a reinstatement of strikes and London is singled out for special treatment - will that be included in the full update do you think or will that be saved for the Final Solution?

The full update that lovejoy says CWU HQ will put out. In theroy it should contain everything there is to know about what is going on. If it does not have that then it will be a partial update rather than full update.

That was my point really BD - how would we know what was a FULL update - it's getting dark and what's that funny smell - it's not mushroom compost is it?

Well dvbuk55 I think we can safely say that todays update was not a FULL update. Look on the brightside when all this over we should in theroy have new draft national agreements awaiting CWU membership voting to authorise them into force. Being agreements they should I would hope have lots of detail.

Exactly K9. We are in this position BECAUSE of the 2007 agreement. Numerous people stated it would be a disaster and two years down the line we are in the position we are in. I'm now waiting for the apologists saying "well we voted for it" but never saying that the vote was close and that the PEC and leadership recommended it saying "if you don't accept this there is nothing else on the table" BUT "we managed to de-couple the pension" - didn't they just and guess who is going to pay the price - not them.

I've been looking for ages and i cant find the post or rem who posted the report from div reps about the goings on around the country.

The real fact of the "London question" is they have not accepted many of the more unpopular changes that have been implemented/agreed in other parts of the country. This is down largely to the different attitudes of Divisional officers, for example in the North West they are in favour of change as a means of survival this is representative of the membership. In London they are more militant because their members demand it and are prepared to display this with direct action.

Is there a definition for OK -ish - because if 500 offices balloted for action it doesn't look like it is OK-ish anywhere - and considering the whole of the union voted to strike we deserve better! We didn't strike for cosy deals for the few

with the total workforce the figures (though these are a guestimate)

Yes - 51%
No - 15%
Not voting 34%

So 49% according to Royal Mail did not support the strikes - using their own spin it could be said 85% did not support RMs position
