Surely the only way round all the issues surrounding 5 hour walks is to go back to 2 deliveries a day! On health and safety and welfare grounds alone this should be a non-starter.Winter-snow,ice,rain,wind,you'll die of exposure! Summer you'll get sunstroke-what's the Union thinking of? I need a least 2 toilet stops in winter, where are you supposed to go? In summer how do you get fresh, cool water. It's a total no-brainer and myself and many others in our 50's will be collaspsing with exhaustion!

That would be a sensible solution toman BUT you will have seen dingo posting that even the first delivery mail won't be completely arrived until 10 am - so you can imagine what time a second delivery would be going out - still if 60% of the mail is ready why not take that first and the 40% that's left goes out on a second delivery - RM aren't going to agree to that though and the union wouldn't go for it even though it would be a solution to preserving full time jobs.
