The strike threat is due to RM's repeated failure to keep to the terms of the agreement that management freely signed up to. There is no union U turn just a restatement of the terms of the agreement on the consequences of RM's failure to stick to it's word in time honoured RM fashion.

Why the Daily Mail moderates, spins and plainly lies to get a point across does not concern me. What does, would be your readers believing the spin. The CWU is not after anything other than what was in the interim agreement which Royal Mail publicly have accepted but have privately not adhered to.

Would it not be in the interest of the Daily Mail to research the facts, rather than print individual journalists beliefs which are not based on fact but reflect the core political agenda of Associated Newspapers Ltd.

No they did not threaten, they explained there was a possibility of further strikes if RM did not adhere to or move forward on the agreement as the agreement itself

I believe the idea is to play the winter of discontent card to promote Cameron - . It's not news - more like something out of North Korea .

Spot on fishtank - I forecast this very scenario yesterday - Barber made the statement "strike free christmas" and the CWU did absolutely nothing to highlight to the public that this was NOT the case but wanted to look like good guys, even knowing RMs history of abiding by agreements - the truth of the matter is the strikes should not have been called off. We should have continued until there was truly concessions and a chance of agreement - we have wasted three weeks and will now look like the bad guys - bloody pathetic if you ask me.
