Pair to stand trial over postman dog attack

A man and his daughter will face trial next year accused of breaching the Dangerous Dogs Act after two rottweilers attacked a postman.

Robert Stewart, 44, and Emma Stewart, 22, both of Cambridge, appeared before magistrates in the city, accused of being responsible for a dog which caused injury on private property.

Magistrates committed the case to Cambridge Crown Court and the Stewarts are scheduled to appear before a judge on January 8 for a pre-trial hearing. Both were remanded on bail.

Postman Keith Davies, who is in his mid-50s, suffered severe injuries and needed surgery as a result of the attack in the week before Christmas 2008.

The guy has all my sympathy i was attacked by a large dog but managed to get in my van with only 3 bite wounds and hurting like hell,no compo with them being top solicitors themselves,union solicitors are useless,another guy had 20 stitches in his arm off a staffie bull and got nothing either,why do people have these dogs when they cannot look after them,its always the same ,hes never done that before or hes only playing,i hope they get a good long sentence the clowns.

We were briefed at a unit reps meeting on Tuesday that anyone injured in a dog attack should fill in a green LSE form(available from your H+S rep,or area H+S rep),as a substantial compensation claim had been paid,and even relatively minor injuries would be subject to worthwhile claims.

If anyone wants more information I`ll try and get hold of our area rep tomorrow,and post up the details.

Think brother that you have slightly got your facts misplaced, the form to which you refer is not an LSE form but an LS3 form relating to dog attacks. I posted this link on one of the forums a wee while back which I think relates to what you are on about.
