We hadn't seen any golf trolleys in years, because they were considered unsuitable - and I trialled one - oh about 15? years ago and I reported they lacked stability. Lo and behold when we went on park and loop up popped 36 golf trolleys - not that they have ever been used of course they just sit idle.

When I think back I would do all sorts, trialling the golf trolley, various aspects of delivery, go on seminars up to about 10 years ago - then........well we all know how things changed ..............now I wouldn't trial a biro.

don't they have to get permision from local authorities to use the hct's on the pavements ...your not allowed to cycle and the size of the hct's must surely must cause a hinderence to pedestrians . Thought i remember that they had to aply for planing to use them due to h&s issues

You don't get round it......................you go through it :Very Happy

TBH We have 3 HCTs in our office that have been used only twice because each time they where used they proved to be worse than useless (it was faster and more efficent to use a bike and just have it topped up by a driver).

That's precisely why they want the HCTs used - to enable the driver and van to be utilised on other things such as packets and park and loop perhaps - but back to the wheelie bins, do you ever find anything interesting when you go through them and do you wear rubber gloves :chuckle :chuckle

difference being if you run into someone i guess ? the hct weighs a tad more than a perambulator and is somewhat less manoverable ??
we don't use these hct's so how heavy are they in total

When my e-HCT broke down the other day I had to use a regular HCT. Despite the fact it was awful, I filled it to the brim and it was still only 87 kilos for the trolley and payload. You'd have to be going some to get it above 105 I reckon.

The max fully laiden HCT I've done was 130kg couldn't of got more in if I had tried. I'd use one everyday if we had enough but as one of the last ones in office they tend to be gone. Therfore means doubling back to boxes for refills and more chance of cutting off.

Yes,it's in the PDF.
our dim said we wll be having a couple of these. if possible he will try to steamroller it in suitable or not. he has already said they will hold 110 kilo's of mail, i'm waiting until he has worked the walk out with his calculations then i'll break the bad news to him 70 kilo's. i cannot read the pdf file and would like to know more about the above. i presume the dim would have the risk assessment with the local authority on file.
It's life Jim but not as we know it
