Re: working to your time
I think a lot of our colleagues need to go on a 4 day week for a while.
Before RM's beloved executive action that was what we were on at my place.
3o'clock finishes were the norm from weds onwards and 2-30ish sometimes 3 on a sat.
Now we're back on the 5 day shite,it's like a holiday, now our guys regulary finish on the same days around 1-45 as they have to be picked up by the vans,we do the job by the book you see.
Me,i finish at 1-45 on a sat instead of 2-45 and it's like a dream,you really don't know what you've got until it's gone,or until you've tried something else.
Working to your time?piece of piss, and a great laugh!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

How did you make up your hours?
What were your start/finish times on 4 day week?
What i was trying to point out was, when we were on a 4 day week we finished obviously late (3),on a 5 day week we finish early (2)compared to the 4 day week, but you guys who finish on time on a 5 day week (2)think it's late, where as we think it's early due to us regulary finishing at 3.
5-30am start
we used to get out around 10-30 ish
3-30 pm finish
4hr walks
Take 30min break at end of duty and 15 mins pouching off means 2-45 finish or back at office in van by 2-30(on paper)
15mins to get out
50 mins in total meal break

Re: working to your time
You take everything you have left at the end of your walk, (shuts, packets ,recorded deliveries) put them in a blue pouch and hand it in at the Post Office so you do not need to return to the office.razor wrote:Forgive my ignorance, but what is 'Pouching off'?

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: working to your time
Thanks guys, at our office everyone goes back after their walk.
Packets are handed into the locker and any undelivered mail is thrown back into the frame if there is any.

i'm the same
when park n loop came in(i voted no) we were told the duties would be looked at after 3 months
they were and the guys who cried and left mail/packets every day got their duties cut
the likes of me trying to complete every day in OT got shafted
so now the reap what they sow,i have 900 calls all stairs so i will be leaving whatever needs be to complete
more than likely i will be stage 3 soon(ongoing issue i cant help) so will be out
no point killing myself in the meantime
