Re: Sure we can
Do you not think it would be more in keeping with the ethos of peejays posts, if instead of replying with pithy one liners, we attempted to imitate his style of using long words and convoluted sentences, you know the ones where you lose the will to live about half way through,in order to correctly convey our collective inability to concur with his , essentially non-unionised vision of a future Royal Mail, or even begin to consider the possibility of a fair-minded approach by our managers in their attempts to deliver a profitable business out of what is, or at least used to be a public service?
f**k it, even I am bored with this approach.
Bring back the one-liners.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Sure we can
Flyer you and cuckoo land springs to mind.
You and PJ are so out of touch with what is exactly happening on the shop floor it really does beggar belief.
I no chaps its time for us to hold up our hands and hand over our future working conditions and say good bye to the union . I think this then would please pj and flyer .
Im very sorry but what ever part of the business you are in at some point you would of been effected by the many stories that have been posted on this forum. Now if you havnt this then leads me to be beleve your a DOM and you are the one dishing it out.
Its rather simple really doesnt even take a lot of logic to work it out .

RM are doing their level best to turn the clock back to this era - even past the 1920's & 30's -

Re: Sure we can
I'm a postie - have been for nearly 13 years, in that time i've done around 40 different walks. And no I haven't been affected by any bullying, harrassment, deliveries that are too long, etc etc. My office has had banking of hours trialled, a Pegasus review, a table top review, collapsing (that is still being done)and whatever else, yet I doubt there are many staff in my office that are unhappy.MoNkEyBoY wrote:Flyer you and cuckoo land springs to mind.

Even the managers aren't complete kn*bs, but I suppose I must be a DOM for saying that right?
Either that or we're all good little RM soldiers as far as you're concerned, regardless of the fact that our duties are perfectly achievable, shown by the fact that few people cut off. The ones that work over get paid for it.
I understand what we went on strike for, which is why I DID go on strike despite still liking the job - I want it to stay that way and not end up endlessly arguing about cutting off on a walk that's too long.
But don't jump in every thread shouting that anyone who disagrees with you is a DOM or not really a postie. Not everyone is miserable and wants to jack it in, and not every office is a hell hole full of unhappy staff.

Re: Sure we can
This board is not like that either, but the reaction that a little optimism and positivity gets at the moment on here is indicative of a membership that has its collective mind set on striking the management until it breaks or changes to suit them, the latter actually forming part of the solution, along with a little more patience from all of us as the management amends its plans, keeping everyone on board for the next leg of the voyage.OnAFlyer wrote:not every office is a hell hole full of unhappy staff
If I simmered down my rants into the odd sentence here and there, I would end up on the rouges gallery I think. For the last time, I aint a DOM. Can't you see I came at this board with more questions than answers really, I have thus far failed to give any answers that have won any approval, nor however have I received any that have persuaded me to take industrial action. Indeed, I intentionally tried to attempt a balanced view.
I think we all enjoy aspects of the job, and we are all at different stages in our relationships with the company, though I don't know if I'll ever be converted from a fair minded observer who finds himself stuck on the inside and to be an easy target for trigger-happy freedom fighters.

They're cynical places - end of .
Cynicism is just a horrible way of getting to the truth , but as long as you get to the truth

PJ, this is the "stand with my hands in my pockets, talk a lot of crap and collect my wages" bunch. Even the news section has sunk to Socialist Worker meaningless rants. You can't debate with the uninspired

Just one last thing your not PJ are you and you have two accounts as hes not posting any comments on this thread but you are especially when ive posted a reply to him was just curious.......OnAFlyer wrote: I'm a postie - have been for nearly 13 years, in that time i've done around 40 different walks. Lets get on thing right flyer there a very few people on here ive called a dom FACT. I dont jump into threads shouting FACT. I have never said that i am miserable and want to jack it in FACT. I rather like being a postie just not all the s**t that goes with it.
The B/H and cut backs is wide spread across R/M so i cant see how you havnt been effected by any change that has happened over the years .If you have been a postie for 13 years have you not witnessed the decline of the business ????? due to these cuts.
I am passionate about what i believe in like many others and sometimes it may come across a tho i am arrogant. What i say i truly believe in, but it will only be a matter of time before your office is attacked by R/M on the same scale as the majority of ours have, then lets see were your arguing point will be coming from.
Sometimes the truth is hard to take and the truth always looks and sound harsh obviously your a bit annoyed as to what ive posted as theres a bit of venom in your post . I can suggest the valium sandwich thats on offer with this post works wonders.

I like that. Who's supposed to inspire us? Crozier? Higson? Tolhurst?
