will keep you posted
it seems to make sense for staff who are contracted to work saturday, are all given monday/friday in Christmas week,as saturday is not Bank/public holiday. therefore 25th and 28th are the holidays for all staff, For saturday to be a working day for these staff they would get an extra public holiday,,,,and i dont think that's possible. Royal mail could give saturday off : as unpaid leave...or take lieu day off every saturday contracted person. So monday /friday seems to make sense..but hey...! i'm just a lowly postie.

Bump.

Sorry, just wanted to ask about Christmas and New Years days off.

25th (Xmas), 26th (Boxing Day), 27th (Sunday) off.. Why would we have the Monday off?

And for New Years, is it just the New Years Day we get off?

26th is a Saturday and is not the official Bank Holiday - Monday 28th is the official bank holiday.

New Years day - in England just the 1 Jan 2010 off as that is the official BH - we will be working the Saturday

I must be a bit slow, as well as new to RM, but if Saturday isn't my scheduled day off and I'm getting it off because it's Boxing Day, then why do I get Monday off as well? :hmmmm :d'oh!

Monday is because boxing day fell on a sat, don't question it,just have it off,err the days that is.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
