There is a perception amongst some postmen in my area that the faster you are the better a postman you are.I personally think they rush around to have more time to mast****te, at least that's why I think they make so many mistakes on delivery ,perhaps they need to go to Specsavers?
But being more serious the 3 'speed merchants' in our office all had substantial time off work for guess what ... accidents on delivery. :no no

The dickheads who run round and cut corners in our office suck up to the boss and put there views in about my round, coz they know that if my round gets changed it will be put on their rounds. So my round will never get changed coz these pr**s can run round and do any overtime that needs doing like vacant rounds and the boss leaves them alone. They can be done no later than dinner every day by cutting corners and nothing gets said about them finishing early. :arrrghhh

Slow coaches. Try asking what your customers want. They want their mail delivered correctly and as early as possible. Thats what they want. Thats what i give. These dickheads and pr**s you are reffering too provide the service the public want. Its funny. People grow a set cause there siting in front of a computer and keyboard. You wouldnt dare say this too other posties face and bet you are the ones that bitch behind everyones back in the office cateen. Sad sad people.

Hmmmmm There, I have corrected your post to read in ENGLISH. See - Spell Checkers are good ! A Grammar checker would be useful to you too. See we can all be insulting to each other but I prefer to remain positive.

Now to the content of your vitriolic post;

Yes, PLEASE ask what the customers want - do they want a second class service delivered by second class companies other than the First Class service they generally get from Royal Mail ?

Yes, Customers want their post earlier - who has prevented that ? hmmmm let me think - oh yes, that would be Royal Mail by cutting out the FIRST Post and only supplying a later SECOND post.

Yes, Customers want their mail delivered correctly. Hmm let me think on that one as well - oh yes that's it - could it be that your delivery round has been sorted by somebody else? Surely not ! God forbid an untrained agency worker or even worse a Sc*B with a grudge has been any where near a Sorting or Delivery Office ???????? (as an aside, and I only ask this as I do not work in the delivery side of RM but, I have friends who do. As a CUSTOMER of RM I have had agency posties delivering to my house who have delivered letters not only for a different NUMBER to my house, not only to a different STREET to mine but also to a TOTALLY DIFFERENT POSTCODE!) THIS IS WHAT CUSTOMERS WANT ??? - I think not.

Hmmmm Now consider - YOUR work colleague who may be a decade or two older than you who makes up in experience for what you lack but may fall behind in physical ability and so does a round a LITTLE bit slower than you do but still gets it done PROPERLY. Now that suddenly becomes a BAD thing ?

God forbid you ever make a mistake on your round because you come across as the PERFECT postie because apparently what the customer wants - YOU give? (does that include an early morning first delivery?). Again God forbid you ever get any problems of too much mail to deliver in one round within your allotted time without claiming overtime or having to cut off or absorb or any other thing that may intrude into your perfect world or indeed anything that may involve you in having to speak to your manager about some "out of the ordinary perfect world" scenario in which you work.

So in your own words, you belonging to your own definition of "dickheads and a pr**s", are so self deluded that you are PROUD to be abused by your employer and happy for that privilege to provide what the "Business" ie RM , want for their customers ?

Now, as for Anonymity if you would care to PM me your details, I will gladly meet you at any place in the UK and have a robust discussion with you about the disparagy of your views to mine.

Can YOU grow a set ? - see some of us do have courage of our convictions and not behind the screen of a computer.

I DO stand up to my fellow workers and ask directly WHY they cross a picket line I am standing on - and then ask WHY they are still members of the CWU if they do not support it. And then ask WHY they expect the CWU to represent them in stage interviews if they are not willing to SHOW they are part of the CWU when it matters. And then ask them to "grow a set"

the end result of rushing about and finishing early is more work will be added, no if's and's or but's. the dim will not care that you have run your entire walk, all he will see is that you finished early so you can do more work for nothing, while he sits on his fat arse counting his bonus. this then becomes the norm thanks to the hero's. what happens then, up the pace more ? i don't mind earning my wage but royal mail take the p1ss. remember you have until you're 65 ? before you retire. carry on like that and the day will come when it it's you up for a disciplinary because you're off work all shagged out and end up looking for an easier job because you helped to ruin this one.

What the customer wants, and what prawns like Crozier wants, are two different things entirely. All you are doing, Dave....is mugging yourself off big time, and for what Crozier would regard as peanuts too. :d'oh!

reality check due any day soon , mail will arrive later ie 0800 due to walk sequencing giving a delivery start time of around 1100 , bang goes your brunch and computer games and any other perks you have. RM will have you working your full duty times and if you make a few hours you'll be out doing overtime for free. Do your job to a good standard, no private cars , no doorstepping, 739's completed correctly , pouch weights within limits, full meal breaks before delivery and you'll find a different persective to customer care and your own health and well-being.

You obviously dont work in my office coz if you knew me you would know what I think of you. I say what i feel to anyones face, if Im talking to anyone about someone, ive already spoke to that someone. And since we dont have an office canteen its said wherever we stand. I want what my customers want, its a pity RM wants what RM wants

i've been one pace for 38 years and have no intention to speed up now,the biggest problem in the last 10years has been posties running round and then boasting how early they finish
why would anyone want to run around for 3-5hours completely baffles me,its funny that over the years the runners who come into the job never last either that or they wisen up.
if god wanted to fly round our walks he would have given us wings.
