When I first started I was out late on a Saturday had specials and packets at that tome used my car. I just took em home got told off Monday and when questioned their duty of care as they new I wasn't gonna be finished till after the office shut was told. Work quicker as we lock ip at x time. Duty of care therfore must cease there so surely we should just stop work and ensure we are back at office for closing time. Prob with that is my contracted hours are currently outside that time.
Life's only rosey if you make it that way...... There is life outside of Royal Mail you know!

You do not leave it in a pouch.

Take it to the nearest Post Office and get the TSO to stamp your card .Hand over the reg making sure your card has the bar code on it and the stamp is in the correct box.

Hold on theres a flaw in my advice only main POS are open late of a saturday are they not.

Ok to plan B ask your DOM for a number you can ring for returns.

basically you need to protect yourself
if you have an SD before the PO closes then go to the PO and get rid of it
if you cant get to a po then you need to raise this with a DOM before leaving
you want to protect yourself before leaving the DO

Again this is fine advice for an experienced postie but not for a newstart. They probably wouldn't say boo to a goose let alone start telling the DOM which Specials they are taking and which they will not. That would assume they know what time the PO shuts on Saturday, where it is in relation to the walk they are covering, where the Special is on the walk (start or finish) or even that the DO shuts earlier on Saturday.
Just seems easier to make the manager stay at the office until the last one is back.People taking Specials home for the weekend seems a really dodgy idea.

And her lies a problem that is becoming more and more apparent on RMC and that is the question which we seem to be asking too much and that is' WHERE IS THE REP!!!'
I am not a rep but me,some others at my place and the rep and sub rep would NEVER see a new starter f****d about or abused!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Unless the new starters approach the rep with there problem how can they sort it out.

Reps havnt got a sixth sense that enables them to know whos getting messed about and whos not.

But i know what is going on at my place,ok it's a 30 odd bod office and i know there are many large offices about, but there are too many in the job and i mean reps AND colleagues who just don't give a f**k.
And who don't take the new starters under their wing for a bit.

It's very rare that the WPC is ever mentioned on here.

Then he/she are naughty and should know better
Has your local rep had a word with them because if new entrants see him/her doing these actions then they will see it as ok and before you know it they are just as bad if not worse :Sick

pointless,we have too many senior guys (WPC is a long serving postie) who dont get it
we have had pegasus and park & loop yet they still do the above to make it work.
makes it harder for the likes of me doing the job properly
its me that looks a s**t with streamed mail and packets around my frame
