I gather that you are a reserve for a broader area rather than an office.ernstyle wrote:when i started i was told the office that i was to be working at. is this my 'parent office' ?? in 18 months i've worked 3 weeks at this office. what is a cluster reserve???

Re: travelling distance
I travel from my office to another office which is also 25 miles away. I have done this every day for 6 months. It suits me cos I like working away from my office. I travel in my own car and I am paid 40p per mile which works out at £16 per day.

Johnny's answered the cluster s**t,it's hard to work out what you are,you have to be based somewhere i would of thought, you need to look at your contract, and you also need the union to get involved.Possibly as high up as your area rep.ernstyle wrote:when i started i was told the office that i was to be working at. is this my 'parent office' ?? in 18 months i've worked 3 weeks at this office. what is a cluster reserve???
You could be being stitched up especially with the travelling you do.You really need to look into this.
Also anyone know whether he ern would be entitled to fares/travelling allowance.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: travelling distance
you have been claiming travelling expenses but is the travelling in your time or theirs ? if you have been doing your full hours on a walk plus say another say 90mins getting there and back every day, then that is overtime. my boss tried to stitch me up on that one. area rep was called in and i got all that was owed to me. now i go to my place of work and at my start time i am chauffeured to and back from other office's and am back on my finish time. as someone has said you don't have to do overtime so travelling time comes out of the walk time. my record is one bag for a days work [pt]
