same story , same chapter , staff get disenchanted with the " " corrupt " right wing old guard " , vote the harder / far left in and find out it's like following the Pied Piper and the Pied Piper was looking after him / herself all the time .

For all the " " corrupt " right wing old guard's " faults - there's certain things that they would never have done .

The far left are good at sh** stirring further down the food chain - but it's usually a recruitment campaign , the problem is with RM , a lot of things don't need stirring up .

according to Mr Tman , in the case of Jane Loftus it is damned if she does not and damned if she does. i fail to see the point of his swipe at the SWP in the case of Jane Loftus because it seems ,as she has resigned from the SWP , that she has in fact gone against the SWPs position . in this case being a member of the SWP was irrelevent.

Jane Loftus, a Socialist Workers Party (SWP) member and the president of the CWU post workers’ union, voted to accept the interim agreement in the post dispute and to call off the strikes.

This was in sharp contradiction with the SWP’s position. It has caused problems for our members in the union and much wider.

Members of the SWP’s central committee met Jane and asked her to reflect on her position and, particularly in the light of Royal Mail’s continuing attacks, to reverse her support for the agreement.

A meeting of SWP postal workers at the union’s national briefing agreed that it was wrong to vote for the deal. The party’s national committee also discussed the issues raised.

Jane has made it clear that she is sticking to her line.

She recognised that this brought her into sharp opposition to the party on a very important matter, and resigned from the SWP – although she remains keen to continue working with party members.

When it come to voting I want PEC members to vote as PEC members not as representatives of their chosen political party, the view point of the political party they support should not come into it.

JL as a PEC mbr looked at all the info and decided rightly or wrongly the interim agreement with strikes suspended rather than cancelled was worth voting for. In doing so she acted as a PEC mbr not as a SWP mbr.

I would be very disturbed if political parties are trying to influence CWU policy.

Policy is a matter for paid up CWU mbrs not political parties.

Better priceless than worthless.

Do you seriously believe that the labour party has not influenced CWU policy through the leadership?

How about the disaffiliation issue?
