We had a few who came in on strikes,,,,,who are the 1s who come in early,use cars,work there days off all the time,and generally crawl to managers .They think theyv got it good,,our futures doomed if we dont stick together.

We as an office have lost more than 2 days pay we had a local ballot which secured a vote for action!. Actions must not be negotioated away by mere words for we judge royal mail upon thier actions and deeds and if they do not reach our asprations we should all walk once again!. FOR THIER LACK OF ACTION SHOULD BE MEET BY OUR REACTION!.

It’s time to direct the anger where it belongs Royal Mail and the Labour government who are pulling the strings. I know Scotland No2 is up for the fight with the best support we have known over the last bout of IA it’s now up to HQ to make sure they do the right thing and anounce more strikes. It’s going to be a difficult time for some members to take strike action but if we lose this fight we lose big time. So tighten the purse strings get out the braziers and the brollys and show these devious lying bullyboys that this union aint finished yet.

At this stage the vast majority of members had lost just two days money , however in some parts of the country some of the longest and most bitterest disputes in Royal Mail history had been going on for months with up to 23 days of strike action having being taken.

This is why here in London many members of the CWU are frustrated; we have lost more pay than anyone only to have the strikes called off shortly after going national. It would seem that our striking didn't have the desired effect and we may have been better off waiting for it to go national at least. In my opinion if like you said we can get these strikes going as soon as possible then people may change their mind and go out on strike once again. Our office was quite solid and I'm hoping that it will remain so ...but I think the CWU needs to speak to it's members in order to up the morale.

How supportive are other London offices?

dingo i have always said it was wrong to call of the strikes and take no satisfaction in it not working, as for further strikes why wait till next thursday? what further proof do we need? tell you what though i bet between now and next thursday the union spin some cock and bull about progress, and as for restarting the strikes what are the chances that RM seek a court hearing about restarting strikes, some crap buried in the wording of the interim agreement that prevents further action without a ballot, and what faith do you think we have in the executive now? i for one wouldnt trust them to negotiate phase 4 and beyond look at the shambles of 1,2 and 3

I cannot agree more with for this whole exercise is about power but not to the workers but to the executive of our union and their prilvege after we are shafted over once again it is high time those parasites who with their beck and call OFF the strikes to test the air!. DID OUR JOBS UNDER FEAR AND ACUSATION AND INTIMIDATION BY MANAGEMENT!.

Whoa, it's getting a bit heated around here.

Erm, anyway, sorry if this question seems way too daft, but is there no way to sue Royal Mail for reneging the spirit of the interim agreement? I mean, could the CWU do this if the proof was overwhelming?

If these are the tactics we must now expect from a company that seems hell bent on derecognising our union (through the back door), then perhaps the CWU should find a way to bind Royal Mail (somehow?) into honoring all its agreements with the CWU along the lines of having some form of legal precedent (if one exists?), and should they again renege, Royal Mail should be publicly lambasted, so that the public (hopefully) will be outraged enough to want the top 3 un-wise men to be slung out on their fugging butts!

A question for you.If you call out your members what will you ask for? Another agreement from an employer you admit you can't trust perhaps?

If you call out your members and are met with apathy you will weaken the unions position greatly.

Are you willing to risk that? More importantly are Billy and Dave?
