I'm guessing you guys have read the brief in this thread?

Anyway,when this 1st started we said bollox,we aint door stepping anything,and we don't.Safe place if there is one yes,but no door stepping.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

There rules are very simple, if a packet cannot be delivered then it's P739'd, it's never to be left unless the householder has given written instructions to the DOM stating otherwise. If you have spare time then why not try to re-deliver the item but if you've no time then you've no time. :Very Happy
Not for BT Tracked - there are new rules for those because BT have accepted responsibility for loss should an item go missing. The ruling is now a second attempt must be made after 4 pm and should that fail then another visit must be made after 7.15 and before 8.00 the next day. I must say though there have only been a couple where a third visit has been necessary. As far as I am aware these restrictions have been added since the contract was accepted by RM.
From yesterday at our office we are to leave Bt tracked even if no safe place told to leave on door step it's a joke
Get your manager too write out a letter stating so and for him to sign it while all witness him sign it!. Don't leave mail on the doorstep if you are under pressure to do so see your union rep!.
