HERMES COURIERS ARE CRAP

Post by hazzeem025 »

Just got home from shopping trip and found a ruined parcel from Books Direct dumped on my doorstep. The numpty did put a card through the door though informing me that the parcel was there! Now I live in cumbria and as you'll be aware we're on flood alert up here at the moment. I have a few problems with doorstepping. My front door is not a secure location so anything left could get knicked and secondly it's open to the elements. So why has this numpty left a parcel on my doorstep knowing exactly that it could get knicked or piss wet through (which it did) and why do it when we're on flood alert knowing fullwell that another load of rain is on it's way! It's unbelievable.

This is the second time these clowns have ruined something or lost something. The first time they put a card through my door telling me they'd thrown a parcel over the gate!(which is 6ft high)

Anyhow I've contacted Books Direct and told them I'm cancelling my membership with them because they use such a crap courier, who can't be trusted.

Hermes couriers congratulations you are now crowned as crapper than home delivey network!

Apparently these firm's staff don't get paid if they don't " deliver " - RM might have profound problems but at least something will be in one piece even if 739-d and back at the caller's office .

I get books by them as well and they always put them in someone else's bin store

I think I will contact Books direct and cancel my account as they don't use Royal Mail.

There in lies the problem. Why can't Royal Mail go to these bookclubs and offer them a better service? Could we undercut them? Surely we must be able to, we have the network, the vans, the offices, the people to do it. These couriers must cost the businesses that they deliver for millions of pounds a year! If we can't deliver we p739 it and return it safe and sound. So why isn't Royal Mail banging the doors of these businesses down saying we can do it for less and we're better at it!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I can't imagine you getting many leads on that round either - the police might though & there will be plenty of starbust style intra deliveries by bike still and the odd early start like with RM when the police come round with sledge hammers :chuckle -

Two reasons, first is that would mean the sales teams actually going out and looking for work but (more importantly) secondly they are running the service down for privatisation and they don't want to increase the business.

Hi folks. This is my first post in here.

I am one of the dreaded Hermes couriers! Yes, we deliver a crap service, but the couriers are just like yourselves, trying to scrape a living from a cutthroat business.

Why do we leave parcels in ridiculous places? Well, for each delivery we are paid 45p. Yes, that's right, 45p. From that money (being self employed) we are expected to -

1. Supply our own vehicle.
2. Pay our own vehicle tax, MOT and insurance.
3. Pay for all our own repairs.
4. Pay our Income Tax.
5. Pay for business insurance.
6. Deliver parcels up to 17.1 Kg.
7. Make THREE attempts (all for the same 45p!).
8. Provide our own telephone service for collections (at 45p per parcel).
9. Provide storage at home for collected parcels and hundreds of huge catalogues (NEXT directories weigh 6 kilos each now).
10. Work 6 days a week.
11. Deliver timed AM/PM parcels.
12. Deliver consigned (signature required) parcels.
13. Find our own cover whenever we need time off.
14. Be constantly threatened with withdrawal of work for non-compliance.
15. Have no paid holidays, sick leave, maternity leave or even the National Minimum Wage.

Now tell me, after reading all the above points, what kind of service would YOU deliver for Hermes?

How is it even possible to make a living doing that? Seems to me that you'd be out of pocket by the end of the day at 45p per item given all the expenses :hmmmm
