A WANNABE bodybuilder was stunned after opening mail this week containing rules to a competition held FIVE months ago.
The Burgh man, in his early twenties, was due to take part in the competition staged by the British Natural Bodybuilding Federation at the SECC in the first week of June.
But the set of rules and regulations never arrived, and he decided in the end against competing.
Included with the mail, which arrived last Wednesday despite being postmarked May 20, was a letter of apology from the Royal Mail, along with a membership to the federation which, because of the delay, has less than TWO months until it expires.
The reader showed the Advertiser the letter of apology from the Royal Mail's investigation unit in Edinburgh, which read:
"I regret that the enclosed postal packet has been delayed whilst in the course of post.
"The cause of the problem has been identified and is likely to be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.
"Please accept my apology on behalf of Royal Mail for the obvious concern and inconvenience you have been caused.
"You may be assured that we treat such matters very seriously and will do everything possible to prevent future failure of this nature, ensuring the safe delivery of your mail."

So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

The hiding mail in a trailer was an East Coast ruse. This is the West Coast.
If they are sending it to the procurator fiscal it suggests it was a postie because we all know managers get away with it.
Undoubtedly if they have found him with a porn video or a pair of knickers it will make front page news.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Bodybuilder takes a swipe at Royal Mail
and its obviously not one of the DIM's blue eyed strike breakers either. woman pops into the callers office today with a bundle of soggy mail. she explains that her gate is always locked for security purposes and she pops down every other day to pick up her mail , she had found this bundle of (her) mail stuck in a bush and reckoned it had been thrown over her wall. now , her regular postie has been off sick for a while and the guy covering was the only 1 out of 36 who scabbed during the strikes. every postie in the offic knows who's to blame but and THIS IS THE GOOD BIT!-the DIM makes a big fuss out of pulling the signing on sheets out of the drawer and looking over them. he announces to the PHG that on the week in question it must have been either POSTIE A or POSTIE B and as they're decent guys we'll say no more about it eh? nudge nudge wink wink!..........................turns out he was looking at the sheets for 2008!!!!! all this just so he doesn't have to reprimand the scab!clashcityrocker wrote:The hiding mail in a trailer was an East Coast ruse. This is the West Coast.
