How does this compare with the current hourly rate ? And would London Weighting be retained ? Basic pay here in the smoke, if divided by 40hours, works out at slightly over £10/hour.

I bloody hope we didn't lose 18 days pay so our union could get Royal Mail to agree to make an agreement some time after Xmas which, by the way, an agreement that includes a skillfully-negotiated PAY CUT :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad
Probably - then they'll say what a master stroke of negotiating getting you less pay was - then put your subs up.

If they want toinclude D2D x 10 and at the moment deliver 3 for about £15 (depending on size and drops)

I would want at least £30-40 increase a week or more :arrrghhh I struggle to do 3 in my time now :cfo

So, to sum it up:

We wanted a shorter working week (i.e. less work per week) and a pay rise (not a pay freeze).

What we're going to get is MORE work (10 x D2Ds) and LESS pay ???

OUR (Londoners)basic pay is NOT £10.00 an hr,we have London weighting in that,we have the same basic pay as everyone else.
So any deal would be what it is PLUS our London weighting.

London Weighting is irrelevant but my basic is £347 and 35*10 is £350 so i'm not that impressed by talk of £10/hr. :nervous

You are 100% certain about that ? Because, frankly, I don't have confidence in the leadership of this union after the 'suspend the strikes' cop-out :nervous

I am in the same boat as you 4hr delivery and 30 mins absorbing and struggle with d2ds. Unlimited would sink me most days of the week.

Are these rural/business/van deliveries?
mine is walk ranges from 4 hours to 5 hours dependent on mail volumes, so i won't be doing anymore

out of curiosity where are we to put all those extra D2Ds ... i struggle to get 3 loads in my bags

My rural delivery is 4.15hrs, driving 1.25hrs & m/r 40mins = 6.20hrs OUTDOORS......Indoors should be 1.40hrs then ???
I have 502 calls IPS & Prep takes 3hrs !!! Pegasus says im 40+mins OVER !!! Still nothing done ? I only work my contracted daily hours and cut-off daily. I have never been so fresh & never tired after doing my hours.
People still come in early, work through meal braks and drive bover speed limits, jump walls + run on delivery.....just to finish the same time as me :arrrghhh

I don't understand how some offices have allowed these length of walking deliveries.

Were they implemented/added to by EA? Do you have strong local/area representation?

BTW The extra D2D will be in the van you are sharing. No more heavy bags just lots and lots of light ones.

basically shafted by our union rep and manager at the start of the SDD startup (niether are in our office now) ... they done away with 4 FT deliveries and they made 3 part time deliveries into FT and we had to take a 1/3rd of a delivery extra each even though our deliveries were already 3.30 hrs which i pointed out at the time but the reasoning our rep put up was that we will get out the door at 7 ish so their would be plenty of time to manage it ... and for a year or so he was right ... but by then he had quit the job ... he was only interested in getting the money for signing up to the SDD, our deliveries were never tested, my own delivery is about 575 calls 15 of which are buisness the rest are residential (non flats)

for every 1 part timer we have four full timers, to be finished on our time we need to be out on delivery for 8.45 am at the latest

btw van is no use for me my delivery starts right next to our office and our yard is nowhere near big enough to hold more vans ... we only have enough room for 4 vechiles max
