yes, but if you were to finish say 13.25, (30minutes early) short,
then on say Thursday finished 14.25, (30 minute late) Long.

This is still long and short surely, What about in the pay and modernisation agreement where it say all hours of work must be utilised.

Please, Correct me if i'm wrong.
It is still managements responsibility to provide you with enough work to fill each working day.
If they can't on a tuesday (and by God they are trying) you should not pay for that on a thursday.
As i said there is no agreement as yet on banked hours although it does appear in phase 4.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

But i am right that it's long and shorts? Anyone who can't understand this is not being reasonable :no no ,it's also the responsibility of yourself to tell your manager that you are going to finish early and need extra work. I 'm not talking about banked hours thats over longer peroids, not work in the same week which is what we are talking about, i'm just saying people need to be carefull as all your 40 hours need to be worked each week, which alot of people are still not doing :arrrghhh .

bluebite79 sorry but is confusing things, here's the deal....

IF your office has long and shorts (If you have an agreement on it)then yes you will finish early one day, work later on another.
If you office does NOT have long and shorts then if you finish early one day THEY CAN'T MAKE YOU WORK LATER ON ANOTHER DAY! to make time up.

That is BANKING HRS which HAS NOT been agreed to.

Now again,IF your office has long and shorts (If you have an agreement on it) and you finish early on a 'long' day then, again THEY CAN'T MAKE YOU WORK LATER ON ANOTHER DAY! to make time up.

That is again,BANKING HRS which HAS NOT been agreed to.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Postman, sorry but isn't longs and shorts covered in the pay and modernisation agreement, so we all have an agreement on it. Listen i could be wrong but i'm her to find the truth on this, my DOM is telling members if they finish early on a monday or tuesday and then go over later in the week for the same amount of time then they are not able to book as they have not gone over there 40 hours. Is this right??

Tuesday is now the day you try and clear up the mail that has gathered in boxes underneath your frame from Wednesday - Thursday - Friday (Saturday it stays in) ..Monday could be day you start to clear it, but Mondays are getting so heavy now it’s not always possible!

Ok possible confusion (If you have an agreement on it) should read (If you have a 'LOCAL' agreement on it)

Yes it's in the P&M but not everyone has got it as duty structures.

bluebite

Even under longs and shorts you still have fixed hours of attendance.

Sounds like your short days are too long and perhaps your long days are too short? If so the DOM has not got your hours divided across the week correctley.

We have no local agreement on it, but it's clearly in the national agreement and on a document titled "let's talkabout....the pay and modernisation deal" which i'm sure i've seen on here before, prehaps you could find it postman for us to have a look at, this could then put everyone straight. If it's in the p&m i don't see how anyone can argue it. Thanks for your help so far postman.

Big Daz, our office hours are :
Mon, Wed, Thurs and Friday 05.45 - 14.15
Tuesday 05.45 - 13.45
Saturday 05'45 - 11.45

All i am saying under the flexi agreement if i was to say finish 13.00 on Tuesday, then under the agreement if i was then to finish 15.00 on a Thursday then i am unable to book overtime or to refuse going over as i would not have worked my full 40 hours for the week. It's in black and white in the p&m.

No bluebite that has not been brought in as of yet, and even so there is no proper strcuture in place for that to have come in yet. Your manager has brought long and shorts into your office but thats all he can do at the moment. If you finish early tuesday and you go over your time on thursday you have the right to cut off or book it if they agree to it. You need to understand mate that managers LIE to get people to do what they want and to not cut off.
