I have heard of one office that does 6 day weeks (48 hours) but gets paid 40 hours - the 6th week is a stand down week (which you can work if there is capacity to do so) and you get paid the same 40 hours. Basically you bank the extra 8 hours each week to use on the week off for pay.
This is what half of my office do we call it a rolling rest week. The rest of us are on rolling rest day which i prefer.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

And yes, theres the odd lifer who is truly awful, not only do we know it, he knows it too.

Can't moan, you are still 2 offices,2 budgets ect,i wouldn't of thought you have been merged as such, just 2 offices sharing the same building, that's getting more common nowadays.
Or am i wrong.
nah we're "one office now" as is banded about when one half gets something the other doesn't. we're told that to try and get people to work as one office when our pegasus review comes in start of next year all the walks will be jumbled together as to try and stop the divide, but yeah the way we actually work you would think we are two offices sharing the same building. most of us are cross trained and can cover and sort both sets of mail.

jokes ??? were not aloud to talk to each other ,speak and you get a unpleasant comment from the patroling linos ,
we dont even see our dom while on the sort as he's too busy taking conference calls and what not. he did pop up the other day to ask what's going on, sky mags ain't in yet there's still loads left. we duly pointed out there was only three (out of 30) on the sort as the rest were either throwing up other dutys/fixed term. he done his nut but was more complaining about staffing levels and his boss. like i've said before generally we have had good doms that know the situation is out of all of our hands.
I deliberatly ask the panic freak sorters who count the letters they sort, what road goes where. I know full well myself but its nice to see them develop a nervous twitch. Always best doing it to a scab. you know the ones !
