Well I don't want to sound pessimistic but RM paid no attention until the national strikes - so the big question is, are the provinces going out again, even if they are called - you see there has been no change since the strike for us and for many many offices - the trick is going to be to convince them that there is going to be change this time and TBH its like waiting for the Saturday lottery - there is a chance BUT .............................experience shows that it is a slim one.

Glasgow mail centre rep said he was applying to headquarters on monday 9th nov to reactivate local ballot but its all went QUIET has headquarters CHEASED him????????????????????????????????

you should be aware that the entire Anglia division are asking for the strikes to restart as nothing has changed and like London it is getting worse with the Royal mail managers just laughing in our faces.
the latest position is quite clear as when all the mangers were taken tp Stansted and told to ignore the union.
our headquarters are aware of this but we are still waiting for a response.

Just reminds me of Animal Farm. Power corrupts. I do not condone the hikes in executive pay without long term performance, but why do union bosses need to be on nearly £100k a year. I surely puts them out of reach of their membership.

Unless you go on all out strike and cripple the postal service people will not properly stand up and listen. RM now have contingency plans in place to deal with rolling three day strikes. Unless the whole country comes to a stand still for weeks on end you will not get the government involved.

I know you are anti CWU Wranglered but what you posted is IMHO just an attempt to stir it.

Our Area Rep went down to the Briefing by Dave from West Yorkshire and probably others did too. Now if your "former" branch did get a bus together thats going to be a lot cheaper than them going by Train, even the train companies realise this.

If they were enjoying a few drinks in the TUC bar then as long as they were paying for the beers I see no problem with it for 2 reasons.

1. Its a good central place to meet and gather before boarding the bus for the return journey.
2. Networking is a good an informal way to meet people from other branches and divisions - its a sort of real life version of this place. Royal Mail do it and to deal with them we have to play the game the same way.

True Blue...is it not a fact that with today's technology, hauling union officials up and down the country, at great expense, is possibly not the best way of spending members money?

To actually repeat what has been said on here a million times...(at no cost to the members)....the interim agreement wasn't worth the paper it was written on. So what have those unanimous PEC members got to say now?

I paid a lot of hard cash to the CWU over the years, only to have my eyes opened to what happens when the chips are down.....

All that subsistence that will be being claimed at the moment for a few sherbets at the TUC could have gone towards backing members who have their employment rights trod on....

Don't try and tell me it is coming out of their own pockets...its coming out of yours!

As I have said many times before, we all have opinions and hope to see some lively debate...

Oh no argument he has a valid point especially about their face to face communication, in this day and age there are many choices and many much better methods. But I still think my point is also valid. You and me both question Royal Mail and the CWUs decisions and methods, I am perhaps on the more moderate side than you, I admit that, however, we also both acknowledge and praise them when we think they have done a fair job.

Wranglered always seems to be very negative about the CWU, as he is fully entitled to be, even though not a member, but I find such a one sided opinion questionable, so I have questioned it. The CWU and RM are neither all bad or all good and I think most find that balance according to their politics, when I see posts that are continually portraying either body as either the "bees knees" or "the evil empire" I try to put some perspective back into the thread. Must be my moderating gene.

Well tbf they don't,and we had the same thing with another member who had a grievence with the CWU,it does not make for good debate either because you are so far towards one way.
Most of us are a bit of this and a bit of that,wranglered is not,because of his personal experiences with HQ.

The posts add nothing to the threads he posts in at all,wranglered we have spoken before,lets leave it now.

When you say the chips are down , I know exactly what you mean, as you know I was treated pretty bad, & the cwu spared no expence with me they spent a small fortune getting are jobs back,so you keep using your own personal case where the cwu failed, so why do you not use my personal case a total victory for me & the cwu,you are only seeing the cwu by your own experience you must see others aswell, they do also win alot of cases,I do feel quite aggrieved when indivduals only see things through there own eyes, as they say you can't win them all, I know you had a victory of your own back & good for you,but if the cwu would have took your case on & won how would you feel toward them then.
