Flexing - absorption - long and shorts to go?

Yeah i wish,bare with me for a min while i rant about the scum we work for.

In London we have had our 4 day weeks taken away by exect act,just a small part as to why we striked for 18 or whatever days it was.
New Interim agreement meant,or so we thought that we could negotiate those duties back,but no RM are throwing in the 2o'clock USO bollox and refusing us going back.

Bare in mind also that RM agreed 'up to 3o'clock' last letter so we could have the 4 day weeks back in 07 and other offices pre 07 have had this deal.(Postcon must of known about theses duty structures.)

So as they seem so hot on the 2o'clock thing,does this now make Flexing/absorption and long and shorts defunked for the whole of London,does this now mean that RM are facing a big fine for failing the USO on a regular basis.

Or does this just mean that RM are a bunch of 2 faced.........

RM have applied to up the last letter times for an hr,which will make the USO ok for the above,but it seems they are hell bent of not having 4 day weeks.

Also while you're here what defines a town walk (2o'clock last letter)to a rural (3o'clock last letter)

we all know the union agreed to ending the strike action without anything concret in place. we all knew that all they wanted was an end to the strike's in the run up to xmas. they'll do all they can to play for a few more week's without any strike's and then they'll restart the cut and slash program.

I hate long & shorts, when I signed up for this job I expected to work an 8 hour day, not a min more/less.

i had a glimmer of hope for the interim agreement but after confronting our manager about staffing levels and trying to get some sa's put back in after they were merged with walks without agreement i've lost all hope and am seething at the sheer balls of them. so 2 faced its unbelievable.

he actually said i must have a different agreement to him /sigh.

as for the duty structure and uso its not something im familiar with but i know for a fact regardless of any governing rule they will try to put our office on 8-4 next year. that was said in the same wtll we were told last letter was now 3.

edit: in regards to longs and shorts we worked out in our office if you have a fixed thursday/friday day off you actually work 52 hours less a year then someone that doesn't

We do Longs and shorts and its like this

FT Timers only:

Monday and Tuesday all - 6am - 2pm
Wednesday - 6am - 2pm unless Thu or Fri day off then 6am - 2:30pm
Thursday - 6am - 2:30pm
Friday 6am 2:30pm
Saturday 6am - 1pm

If day off is Saturday then every day is 6am - 2pm

Postman as i said at the briefing yesterday you couldt make it up, for years Royal Mail have ingnored the service spec and yet on the eve that they want to change to the new spec of 3 for town and cities and 4 for rurals they now want to re -introduce a mandatory last letter of 2.

Well we cannot accept this as it is designed to remove full time jobs and improved attendaces and certainly in London we have made it clear that this cant be part of the interim agreement.
