Wilbur Spoons wrote:Do you not think its worth waiting til we've had more than one strike day before we judge its success or lack of? I agree that the fight needs to go on, but we need to keep as many 'on the fence' picketers on our side, push them too far and they will go to work, losing us ground. The thing is we have a smart union, I say we trust their judgement, I'm sure that they won't let us down.

Right on Wilbur Spoons :Applause I was a bit fecked of myself with another 1 dayer i wanna up the ante, but we must stay solid and as you put it trust the unions judgement,Dave is no fool.

Some have very large mortgages and to lose a weeks wages would be devastating to them. Are you sure we would keep their support?
Doing it by areas would hit better than all on the same day.
so working their days off for the 5 weeks before the strike, or a few before and a few after, would have the same effect then wouldn't it and mean we all earn the same as we would doing single day strikes. I'm perfectly aware we all need a certain amount to survive, I myself have just taken on a new mortgage, but my idea costs us no more than what we're doing now, it just has a greater impact and gives more notice and more media coverage.

I'm not saying it's perfect and I like the idea of doing it by areas (we'd have to allow our members to cross picket lines at other offices though to prevent unofficial walkouts and I'm not sure that would be popular) but a site like this allows us to share ideas, other than those already being used, and perhaps come up with something worth using.

Worst thing anyone could have done was to reply to this thread, maybe it should have been closed by a mod? but we dont know if this DOM is for real?
I would ask all posters to edit their post and delete it and show them we are not roused by this pathetic attempt to rile CWU members i will watch this thread then delete my post or chnage the subject to sport or something not to do with RM!

There are enough posts on here by these guys and many others to show they're serious about a strike.
He knows that anyway.

As for the original thread,i'm not stopping managers posting (to a certain degree) and i think he's got the answers he deserved.
If ANYONE comes on here and just goes for the wind up constantly (although he hasn't been too bad)they will be gone, sharpish.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Not slashing your authority just asking CWU members to retract their posts to show the posts are not riling them which at the moment it seems that way

strike breakers

Post by mitzi »

Anyone who crosses the picket line is a SCAB.
They should all be hung out to dry by their colleagues and never allowed to forget that they put their own selfish interests before the greater good.
They should be ashamed of themselves. :no no :no no :no no :no no :lfo

No rule, and no law. Just a DTI recommendation of six.
