Dear dvbuk55 and Pinky 1,

I don't get why you are contributing to this thread. You both seem to be having your own conversation, and ignoring me and my posts, even going so far as to make a mockery of both. If nothing else, surely you are both being intrusive and slightly rude, by ignoring me (on my own thread) and in effect talking over me and crowding me out. What right do you have ? This is my thread, it has my name on it, although it has long ceased to be any fun. By all means have your own fun, but please no longer at my expense. Don't exploit the freedom we have on here to post personal comments on probably anything worth mentioning, by lowering your level of contribution to appear not as members of a public forum for chat but as members of a clique who perhaps don't, shall we say, appreciate the new-comer. :mad

Peejay you need to lighten up guy, cut some slack etc. :Very Happy

Your taking all this far too seriously and personal. Yes ok I know folks have had a dig at you but you need to dig back a little, fight fire with fire and not take it so much to heart. When in Rome etc etc :dance

Yes you started this thread but after so many pages and posts you cannot expect to lay claim to it anymore. Its natural human progression that once a topic is well and truly exhausted humour and possible sarcasm will prevail. If you feel you have some other points to air or get off your chest may I suggest you start a new post whereupon you will get some fresh views and a wider range of forum contribution. :cool

PeeJay14 that last long post you made in my humble opinion is not really a subject for a "Chat Room" its very self centric, perhaps a little rambling and introspective, and that's why its out of place on a forum.

Your posts are quite interesting but are more probably better posted as Blog entries rather than threads in a discussion forum. You might wish to start a Blog at http://www.blogger.com/create-blog.g?hs=true" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. This has the added benefit of you being in control of who can post comments. You never know we might even public the odd article from it on here.

Still post on here obviously, but try to expand beyond this single thread and get involved in other serious and not so serious discussions.

Well I can't speak for Pinky, PJ, but from my own point of view, a thread is an open forum for all - sometimes the comments will be relevant and sometimes not, you have to separate the wheat from the chaff. Personally if I don't like the thread then I don't bother posting on it, if the thread gets silly then so do I. Some people may think that their words are pearls of wisdom, others don't care what other people think.

Now which category do you think we fall into as individuals PJ - there are no prizes if you guess correctly.

Well i'll agree with most of what dvbuk55 says there, adding that if it's a thread that concerns a particular part of the business that i have no knowledge about, then i leave it alone.
pj, i think that TrueBlueTerrier's idea is a really good one, and think that you should seriously consider taking it up.
I'm sure there's a market out there for your ramblings .... :wave

Ok, before I say a long overdue farewell to this thread, can anyone try to explain to me why my credentials as a postie were brought into question ?

That astonished me, and was the main niggle behind some of my longer rambles. I seriously didn't anticipate that reaction, and while I attempted to come to terms with it during the thread, I am still left feeling unfairly treated.

Perhaps if I had given you guys LESS to go on, then you may have found more reasons to take me at my word, perversely.

I have spent too long on this thread, and my family life cannot sustain this much investment of time on the computer.

And finally...

Almost to prove (possible?) that I am a postie, just like you guys, and one struggling under management pressure, I was hurried out the office door this morning along with a few other part-time stragglers, with a flea in my ear about how I was taking too long to tie-up (counting True Blue Terrier's ticking-off above, that's two fleas I've been given today). But I knew that already, I am trying to improve, and I appreciate attentive management. Which is all very well, however from the moment I reached work and saw the state of my frame, and since I didn't manage in early this morning (it being my turn to do the school run, I was 3 minutes late) I knew straight away that I would be late out the office. Still, I only finished 50 minutes over my time today, and that for me is a good day.

For me your credentials seemed suspect mainly because you came onto the forum at a very heated and suspicious time. Many others were posting threads trying to pass as RM employees in at attempt to provoke people into making anti CWU statement which could then be quoted in the press. Since the strike action has been called off they have gone. You stayed so I re-joined your thread.. :Very Happy
So it was bad timing mostly which created my suspicions which i did apologise in advance for.

Your terminology and understanding of the day to day workings of a postie seemed very vague for someone whom had completed 18 months service. I still find it difficult to believe you did not know what pressure overtime was.

Finally your threads are incredibly deep and complex which is just not the norm here and raised further doubts. At the risk of causing some offence (which is not my intention)
some parts do come across as a little self important and to be honest arrogant, almost as if you are talking down to us rather like some managers like to do.

Your last post is much better its short and to the point and more descriptive to a typical postie day having to extend to get the job done. :Very Happy

I think this thread has grown way too old but why not join in some of the other debates going on here not only the serious ones but the humorous ones as well. :dance
