Re: Advice Please
I've been a floater now for the last 8yr, basicaly since i started with royal fail, and having to wait till the work sheet goes up for the following week can be an absolute bummer as you never know what day you're going to get off, infact some weeks our sheet doesn't go up till either late friday or even sat morning, As far as the lapsing goes, we at the moment are lapsing 2 duties on the days when we're not getting pumped. Now we are getting told the lapsing will be getting done all year round plus the bit of lapsing each duty does will be getting added onto their frame

Re: Advice Please
with the best will in the world advice offered here is just that, advice.
if your hubby is reluctant to express disappointment at his treatment then nothing will change.
If the duty was advertised to be lapsed during the summer then thats a 16 week period that expires about the beggining of september.
your old man needs to do some leg work himself if he wants change, i'm not saying he isn't or hasn't, he needs to become a pain in the backside of his LM.
From now on tomorrow is no good, this needs to be resolved today, and to his satisfaction.

Re: Advice Please
Lapsing/absorption is being abused nationally, our colleages are being thrown off their rounds because of the location so it's easier to lapse/absorb.
My DIM asked us which was the easiest walk in the office to lapse,we told him to f**k off.
Simples.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Advice Please
floater knows his day off every week, being a reserve is different but you should get a long weekend every 6 weeks.
