IF you think management are approaching this whole process honestly and in a spirit of good will and compromise then the union have made a brilliant and firm starting point.

If,however, you have been employed by Royal Mail for more than five minutes then you don't think that at all, no way, not a chance, not in a million years, not ever, the leopard doesn't change it's spots, once a bully always a bully, and so on and so on.

So what are the union playing at?

Have they been outclassed by management?

Or is there some long term gameplan?

Is it just about survival of the union? or the service?

I want to keep my job! I want to give a decent service to my customers(the people I see every day) Profit is not part of any equation I will ever recognise. Service is the key to survival of the industry.

Last nights wtll told me all i need to know about RM's attitude to the interim agreement. Carry on as normal, lie to the workforce, twist everything to their own way of thinking. Argue against them and you can see them marking your card for special treatment. They are offering VR to anyone who wants it in processessing at our mail center and there is a stampede to take it.
No faith in management. No faith in the CWU. No way forward.
How many members will be left to represent?

If we can do a review of of the changes made in a delivery office over the last year to identify improvements, then that suggests that there will be no change to pegasus walk speeds and indoor workload tool calculations. These two things are what drives the bullying and performance related issues,so until there is a clear agreement on these then a review cant be done.

Are the union not gonna get a better deal on this? Seems like this interim is another wild goose chase to nowhere

That is a fair estimate Ernie - unfortunately for the 99% it is the 1% left that hold the purse strings and the power - some years ago there was an abbatoir near where I lived where pigs were killed and made into sausages, pies, chops etc, they were driven to the killing ground in a two tiered lorry - do you know I am beginning to feel a very close affinity to the pigs
