No worries pal
Mind you sometimes you do need to put on a thick skin, when things get heated
Same for all of us though.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Re: aspergers and Me
Hi anyone able to provide any guidance on this link. I have the high-functioning Aspergers Syndrome, but have really struggled to find any employment even with very high educational achievements. I have recently taken a 20hr contract with RM, but am really struggling as nobody seems to take any notice of health & safety or motoring laws and with my condition I have to do everything by the book. This has frustrated fellow workers and management as I have to make sure the job is done properly and perfectly. When I talked to my manager about not being able to complete my round 5hrs. He replied "I have guys in this sorting office who can do that round in 3.5hr" As you can imagine what that did to my confidence and self-esteem. I firmly believe that my manager thinks Asperger's is a 'german sausage". I did tick the box on the application to say I have a disability, but that is about as far as it went and now have to struggle in silence. :

Maybe that you're not able to complete your round in 5 hours when some guys in the sorting office allegedly can do it in 3½ hours is more to do with you only recently taking it on than your Aspergers.
The jobs a struggle for all of us in the first few weeks.
Hopefully with any necessary reasonable adjustments you'll get by okay before long.

Re: aspergers and Me
Who would Woody need to see to get help with those at his office understanding his condition?
Would this come under Linda Roy's dept and the latest mental health drive we've just had?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Hi Woody.
I shouldn't worry to much about how long it takes to complete your rounds as you are still new. Once you get settled in the job, you will find your pace naturally picks up!
First time I did a round on my own I was about 7 hours on delivery!
Good luck!
