We have a strike committee meeting on Monday, it will be interesting to hear others points of view. In the office at the moment many are saying as above "only one day"?TrueBlueTerrier wrote:At my DO when I told people there was a new strike they all seemed happy that we were contnuing action but they had 2 points.goinpostal wrote:today at work people were groaning about another one dayer, they thought there was a catch or trick to it and it was more than that but sorry to say there isn't, just another bog standard 24 hour action. What was the response like elswhere?
If your day off is Friday you have not yet suffered so perhaps they should have different days for the next strike.
Why aren't we striking for longer or in a different way (ie DOs on 1 day, MCs on another, etc)
Here`s my two cents worth.
1. By next week we will have done two day`s of strikes.
2. Are the Company worried? maybe a little, are the Government worried? maybe a little.
3. Are the public worried? maybe a little. Do they care?
4. We will be short about £100. Are we worried? some are, some not! (Mr Leighton laughing at us)
5. Is our DOM worried , no he is not, thinks this sort of `One day action will go on through the Summer`.
RIGHT THEN
6.Next strike dates: 1st week in December all MC`s out one week!
7.Next strike dates: 2nd week in December all DO`s out one week!
8.Is the Company worried, Yes now they ARE.
9.Is the Public worried Yes they ARE.
10.Are we worried, maybe, but we are getting two weeks of strikes for `the price of One`
11. Mr Leighton, not laughing, VERY WORRIED!
12. DOM, worried, you bet!
13 .Result, everyone now worried, and trying to sort this mess OUT. (Mr Leighton not laughing at us! Now, at last he has a BLOODY BIG PROBLEM TO SORT OUT. ( Government now worried, no Christmas Post, oh no, Lost Votes)
When the French Farmers go on Strike, they do not say, oh excuse me Mr President do you mind if we strike, Bloody hell they man the Barricades, everyone knows about it!
Public Opinion? Put a big `add` in the Press, from the CWU, "We are sorry, WE ARE TRYING TO SAVE YOUR ROYAL MAIL SERVICE, BUT NO ONE IN SENIOR ROYAL MAIL MANAGEMENT OR GOVERNMENT IS LISTENING!!" Our members care, But because Royal Mail can not operate on a fair playing field, they will be paying with their jobs.
We, CWU NOW HAVE THE Moral High Ground?
any views?
