Is this Agreement going to stop Managers forcing people to work over their time..........NO
Is this Agreement going to stop managers B & H members....................................NO
Is this Agreement going to stop RM interpreting the 2007 Agreement Their Way ..........NO
Is this Agreement going to stop the changes being forced through locally....................NO

We were even told today that we have to work over and complete our rounds over the Christmas period because it's in our contract ( Exceptional Circumstances )
It took the Two who's wages we as members pay 18 Months to get to were we are now, and what have we got More Talking, sorry but i did as many others did and
trusted the Union to get a rock solid deal with no dubious or unambiguous phrases for RM to interpret any which way they choose.
Let's just be honest with ourselves, we had them and as in 2007 we let them off the hook and now while Billy & Dave sit around eating jammy dodgers trying to work out
a final draft it will be us the members getting s**t on all over again as RM push on with their unrealistic workloads and targets.

Same old same old.
Just like "Way Forward" and all the other agreements we have had management will use it to their advantage by cherry picking.
All those days pay lost particularly in London and we are no further forward.

P.S. All through this dispute the term "Pay and Modernisation" has been used, I must have missed the bit in the agreement about pay!!!

sorry, as an outsider i think it seems reasonable. The fact that people are no longer immediately taken off pay due to performance and it will be raised with the union first. And the fact ACAS will have a rep involved now is positive. Sorry, thats what i think

it was an excuse for any manager to use for anyone who cut off.

We won't strike until Xmas.
Royal Mail won't steam roller through massive job cuts, pension cuts, carry out more pegusus revisions, bully / harrass, cut all SA, cut overtime, piss around with our hours until AFTER Christmas.

What a cracking agreement big Dave and co have got for us.

Anyone thinking we haven't been sold down the river must live in on cloud cuckoo land.

January
RM press on with their destruction of a public service, we go on strike, RM don't give a s**t and carry out their plan to derecognise the union.

Spring
Ist wave of voluntary or compulsary redundancies.

Summer
The tories come in and RM press on even further.

Autumn
I would have taken my redundancy ( compulsary - no doubt) and will feel sorry for the 50% of the workforce still left.

Time to make serious job / career plans now.

This whole deal stinks of 2007 all over again, in that agreement the 'fire was dampened down'! and left to simmer on.
We were sold out then and we have been sold out yet again.
The EC have thrown in our Ace Card - Christmas Post, after January, RM have a clear run straight through to the Finish Line.
We in the meantime will either fall in behind, or fall at the first fence, per say!
Its about time that we the membership took control of events locally.
Personally I can see Wild cat strikes breaking out between now and Xmas as Management try it on!

what i think will happen now is,managers will be nice to you, all the way up to january the first,also the talks will go on as promised,rm will drag their feet finding sticking points along the way ,then it will new year and sod the talks,you can go on strike as long as you want then.for then the strikes will have lost a lot of momentum and impact.

This so called AGREEMENT is nothing but a letter of surrender of the CWU to royalmail all who work for royalmail and Joe public as royalmail will march into every deliverly office every mail center and distribution office on 1/ 1 /2010!. And impose change without any negotiation any consultation it will be like the German's marching into the Czech lands in 1938 after neville Chamberlain and his peace in our time speech waving his piece of paper with all our futures on it!.
