Rubbish having expected to have started my extra long weekend off - I went into work thinking surely after the pounding of mail yesterday it would be ok today ........ it was horrendous and all the way round my delivery I was thinking I shouldn't have been working today but my Union decided to set us all up for a bum raping in January when Royal Mail will say strike all you want it doesn't bother us now!! Not very happy.

Thought we were in a for a light day after the amount of mech they pushed through yesterday, no chance, loads of flats :arrrghhh thanks very much Sainsburys! On a happy note I've got tomorrow off and next week is A/L, hopefully I can spend the week recharging my batteries ready for the onslaught of xmas and shafting by RM.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

After the amount of mail we have had through up to today, a reasonable expectation would have been for a lighter than average friday - but not a chance !!!
8 bags and 45 minutes over on a long duty day. Loads of packets but at least most were letter box sized and from the postmarks travelling through the system at a good speed. Had to wear my own kit today with an RM hi viz over it because all my RM stuff was still dripping after yesterday. Wish they would talk to some of the guys like me who do a bit of hill walking for leisure and get the names of some decent weatherproof manufacturers - still a lot of rain today and didn't even get damp (with thanks to Columbia and Craghoppers).

I get the impression that RM knew what was in the pipeline for this weekend - if we had been out today and monday they would not have recovered from the backlog of mail and I think the threat of two days out was applied just at the right time to get something moving.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

Today seemed a bit easier than it was looking when I first saw my frame and all the packets. Got all customers in and it stayed dry all through my walk.

We hada union meeting today,

As our manager has decided to go with EA to take out a fulltime duty even though we have partimers that would like to go f/t, so it did not take long for RM to tell there managers to carry on the way they have been doing things,

At least our office was behind us on this issue , but not so sure if they would go back out in strike I have heard a few rumblings they won't, :no no.

I have a feeling we may be called out very soon again

Strangely quiet today. Was back for one o'clock. Wasn't threatened with conduct code either. Something is definitely wrong. :hmmmm
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?
