DEAL REACHED:STRIKES OFF

If there is some sort of agreement to "suspend" the strikes, and of course we all know what that means, the PEC was reportedly closeted for 4 hours at the TUC, so what takes so long to tell us what the "agreement" is - it wouldn't be a stalling tactic until we went back in would it? Just in case WE didn't like and and said FU that's not good enough and stayed out unofficially. There are going to be some more local ballots for action if this doesn't fix the problem.

i like most posties in our division have been treated like crap since July so we should wait until the agreement is released tomorrow and then comment.

if it was a good deal it would of been put on the cwu website .shades of 2007 kicked in the b......s again by our own people . summer lapsing or as its known now as all year aint going away .

One possible reason for the secrecy may be the inclusion of withdrawal of Friday's legal action.

There is a reason they have reached an agreement, both parties involved have decided, custard creams are s**t and jammy dodgers are the best.
We have been stuffed, in January of next year we will probably be asked to support the CWU again and walk, because talks have broken down……..they can F**k OFF.

Having thought about it the CWU would not have waved a white flag to R/M . IM edging my bets they have told R/M if theres no resolute in a set period of time then were out again.

They new the feeling of its members ? didnt they ? lose this one end of the union and for this reason alone they wouldnt have just waved the white flag.

They said that this would still go ahead, with or without strikes, I think? Or maybe I'm wrong...again.

If they stop the High Court action, does this mean that the 30,000 RM wanted are still needed, as they did say it was "Nothing to do with strike", didn't they?

I find the last few weeks totally bizarre, and have to admit I'm baffled.

Obviously we have all lost money, both OT and regular pay.

Obviously various customers have quite rightly buggered off and found alternatives.

Obviously, poitically, we are on our own now. Labour, tory whatever seem to have abondoned us.

Obviously relations at work have become strained.

What have we gained ?

The union seems to think the same as the management. That we are mushrooms to be kept in the dark and fed bullshit.


They could let us know what is happening, rather than keeping secret backroom agreements. They talk about trust between the CWU and Royal mail. Would be nice to see some trust from the CWU to its members.

le the CWU accepts that some redundancies are required, the two sides disagree over their extent.

They also disagree over changes to pay and working conditions for Royal Mail staff that remain in their jobs.
