Ballot is live for 3 months from last strike action.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Understand what your saying but in my mind the ballot is dead in the water.
Once you agree a "period of calm" you will never get your members back out.
Even if you do the press will have a field day.

From HQ site (apols if it's already been posted):

The interim agreement will provide a period of calm for the CWU and Royal Mail to reach a full and final agreement. The interim agreement guarantees that modernisation will be introduced with agreed job security and improved terms and conditions for postal workers. It also addresses all the issues included in the long running local disputes.

The strike ballot remains in place.

Having said that i think all the union bashing, while inevitable is playing straight into RM's hands. Let's remember managers come on here and would take great delight in there next meeting to tell their cronies " there all up in arms, lets finish em lads. There's been no agreement, and i think this is just the beginning of a long hard road, comments like " i'll never come out on strike again" are understandable , but weaken our position. Mind you i've not seen this deal thing yet :d'oh!. Stay strong

Oh very restrained, and yes you're quite right, BUT, we've all got the hump coz we can see another arse feckin coming our way if these union boys aren't really really careful. They must realise that this is their one and only chance to do this coz we won't support them again if they cock it up.
I agree Billy, i just wonder what's in these words that wasn't last time. The PEC rejected the peace deal thingy last time, yet this time they've agreed unanimously.

Dave Ward bottles it again ... we finally get them into a corner (Christmas) and he agrees to a calming period.

The only thing i can surmise from this is the CWU is lead by TURKEY'S so they can stay their execution!.

thats how i feel. spot on. i feel sick. really thaught we would talk the talk AND walk the walk. im gutted because no matter what you all say on here we have lost our barganing power. this decision will anger alot of union members and lose alot too. will we get an explanation at all of this stupid decision to call off the strikes? will we get the truth?

I am as worried as anyone regarding recent events. But please remember we still possess our greatest weapon. DO THE JOB PROPERLY.
This company has survived for years on the goodwill of the postmen and women.
Now is not the time to divide it is time to unite and show these feckless idiots that run RM, that what ever changes they plan to introduce, none will
work without the co-operation of the staff.
So for all our sakes stay strong, and show RM that they will never be succesfull without us.
