Simple questions:

1) Why have we just striked?

2) Why are the strikes now off - there is no agreement in the dispute?

Unless the CWU answer some pretty straightforward questions, you can bet membership will be dropping by the tens of thousands pretty damn soon.

I'm willing to wait and see what's in the agreement and to see how those of us who went on strike in our office are treated, as we are being treated differently to those who went in.
Plus we had a pegasus in Jan and a third of the office is still not right, plus we had hours cut from a dozen PT'ers, only a fortnight ago, and we couldn't get everything done before, and this was order from above.
I hope they've fought hard and if need be won't be scared to call us out in December, trouble is by then most people won't come out, as they're being scared for their tips, as they can't see further ahead than their nose.

RM have got their way then, no strikes through the xmas period,

and we got we wanted an independent assessor to look into the root causes behind the dispute. I think it was enough to pause the strikes, not call them off which has happened, and it means if what comes out of the talks, or RM back track, then we still have the option to restart the strikes.

I don't thinks its a 10 out of 10 for the CWU, but I certainly don't see it as capitulation, as with most things of this nature, we got some concessions we gave some. Now everyone keep an eye on your managers, I am guessing it will be the "Good Cop" routine for a few weeks now that the "Bad Cop" one did not work.

Its not over yet but I think its a step towards a settlement.
