What are the managers at my place doing.......................Pissing us all off by demanding everybody wears the crappy name badge with the shite glued on pin that lasts about 5 minutes.
All our work time learning the other day was consumed by it, we're there itching like fck to get out and get a flier but our dum goes round us all 1 by 1 asking where both badges are and making a note to order new ones.

We've had so called security badges for a couple of months now. I've never seen such cheap crap. A bit of laminated paper with your photo on. Any moron could knock one of these up in no time. This will hardly thwart a criminal mastermind. More money spent on useless crap. It's becoming a bit of a habit :cfo :lfo

As someone who mapped every non-operational department in the company I was staggered by their size.

for example, the legal department is comparable in size to any medium sized practice in this country. Approx. 100 lgeal eagles
Security department - hundreds
Internal Communications - Over 50 people
External Communications - Over 60 people

All of these departments need to justify their existence and how their empires are contributing. To be fair to them they do have work to do. What they are making these badges one can only assume there is some type of secruity./legal requirement, but as perusual the company is not capable of implementing things in a profesisonal manner. Someone comes along and starts chipping away at the edges of quality! To be fair to some of these departments there is now a huge 'procurement' department with a procurement director who is ripping through contracts and getting cheaper deals, and possibly lower quality products.

Where you're in operations you just don't realise that there is this whole other world out there doing stuff.

Guess who many people are in Marketing? Yes the department that hasn't done a single TV advert in over 2 years, not launched a real product in several years (don't claim the 9am is a product!)

our office is exactly the same when asked where our security badges where we was told that the budgets overspent and we will have to wait until the new budget in april

its now july and still no badges

we dont mind as the badges make you look like a feckin manager
