Rumour has it that there is a desire by the leadership to call off the strikes, "if it is deemed sufficient progress has been made" with tacit agreement from the PEC without them knowing the details - I sincerely hope the PEC are the ones who decide the "progress" made and if it is of any quality and worthwhile - lets not be hasty and call off the strikes - things can only get worse for RM, which strengthens our position.

Fair do's you are indeed entitled to your opinion and as you say it's getting near to Christmas but maybe you are not doing 4.5hrs plus yet but I am and honestly it is f#cking killing me amd a lot more in my office. We have a manager who to be truthfull isn't to bad but I dread to think what the new year will bring. I just hope we come out of this better than 2007, but I will keep striking as the alternative does'nt bear thinking about. :cfo :mfo

Strange, have you left during the last 30 months because I have been here for only 2 strikes - 2007 I think we could have done better but we did gain concessions and in fact ended up in a better position after the strikes than Royal Mail wanted us before they started. This years I still have me reservations but I still think we held the line against RMs attacks and although we aren't any better off, thankfully we are not worse off.

what you talking about left during the last 30 months. i am talking about the strikes that have taken place during the past 28 years, 1996 ring a bell or 1987 ring a bell both big strikes, plus numerous local action.

i take it you only have 2 years service then true blue if you do not know what has happened in the past, i suggest you talk to someone who has a little more service than your good self

Bleeding hell mate calm down - I was only putting my own pint of view forward - I know nothing of the strikes pre 2007 because I was not here that's why I did not comment on them. However been here for 6 years now so I feel I can comment on the 2007 and 2009 strikes and I did, my opinion may be different but is still valid.

However today I was talking to a 30 year man and although he says the strikes over his time have been difficult, none have been pointless. Most of them successfully stopped RM imposing unfair changes and a few even increased pay rates. Perhaps he has a different view to you as well. He said to mention regionalised pay
