Wages over the Friday Monday Strike

Our Manager brought this up and this mornings group cuddle --- sorry huddle ----- . Apparently our Hours are worked from Monday to Sunday, but anything that affects pay apparently goes from Wednesday to Wednesday, he also confirmed we should expect a double whammy in next weeks pay for Friday and Mondays strike.

I as really looking forward to getting a cuddle from my manager but now you've spoiled it

Yeah but this is RM we are talking about and they are petty. They will do all they can to cause financial hardship.

My mortgage payment is due out of my bank account on the 16th.
My next weekly wage goes into the account on Friday 6th, the next one on the 13th.
How does it make a blind bit of difference whether they deduct one day's pay on each paydate, or both days together on the 13th ?? I will still be 2 days pay short when the mortgage payment is due !!! Somehow I will struggle on, but RM's policy on how to make those deductions is irrelevant. They would say 'strike for 2 days, expect to lose 2 days pay'.

In any case, our next weekly pay goes into our accounts at 00.01 am on Friday morning. They cannot legally deduct this Friday's strike from this weeks wages, not least because the strike doesn't start officially until after the wages have gone in and they don't know at that point who is not going in to work !!!

They can't deduct this Friday's pay because pay has already been processed (today) so it will be deducted next week (along with next Monday's pay) so you should be 2 days down next week. In effect if you strike on Friday then you will have been overpaid this week.

I agree with you but some people won't see it that way. They will just see two days missing from their paypacket.

... and conveniently ignore the fact they got a full week's wage the week they had the 1st of those 2 days ?
