Hello I am new on the chat site and I am A Manager
I was wondering if there are any Managers that are off work with depression, or work related illnesses.

If not, they should be!
Or at least be off with 'shameitis' at the way they treat people.

should be culled.
Too many chiefs not enough indians
do we need 6 managers to 100 staff?
We can do the job with no managers! we know what to do
in answer to your question our dom was off but was a while ago

dropping like flies - one was driven to a near suicide state due to a fit up by Senior Managers for not toeing the RM line - the option was redundancy or " discipline " . A vicious system , nobody is immune .richbriggs69 wrote:If not, they should be!

Seen one colourful 90's David Brent style motivational manager off with depression - the tablets were not working , normally this is all swept under the carpet as it's embarrassing . Hypocritical firm . He came for his RMAP interview with " the dwarf " looking if he was going to line dancing lessons with the rhinestone shirt , people asked if "Trigger" was outside
The " transformed " non operational department is notorious for stress related illnesses and H&B . The rot starts at the top and with that 70's command & control UK car factory management style .
Paul Reuter of UNITE has been scathingly critical of RM's Senior & Middle Management - the British Disease only taken to extremes with RM .

Before it kicks off in here, give the guy a chace to speak,if you don't want to talk to him or read his stuff then leave the thread.
I have no idea either if he is genuine, let's wait and see.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Ah ok. Is it tough to deal with unrealistic demands from above? The kind tht go " either you implement this or I will get someone in that will" or have you found ways around the sitution?

I agree with you I think the demands from above are unrealistic I must admit I have not had "you implement that or we will get someone else in" the changes we have made have been agreed with all the staff and on a basis what we can realistically do, I always talk it through with the staff.

Would make everything so much easier and im sure we wouldnt be in this mess if the whole company had been sensible from the outset
