Yeah it's possible. He's a superb peformer in the media and totally charmed the party at Conference this year. If Brown were challenged and it was Milliband against Mandelson in the run-off I think the man with the experience would win. God help us if he's PM and they win the GE.
In the article they are saying that Lords will soon be able to appear in the First House meaning there would be nothing barring his way.

There are a couple of letters missing form the wall behind his head in the Telegraph photo.

Re: Heaven forbid, but could it happen ??
I had read something recently, also regarding a letter written by Brown to Bercrow, the speaker of the house of commons to allow the dark lord to speak in the commons, but now that I have read this article, and the extant to which their deviousness sinks I am aghast -- and appalled that such underhandedness could still yet fester at the highest echelons of governance even after the debacle of the MP expenses row.
So, by allowing this Baron Mandelslime of Foy access to the commons, it is effectively giving the green light to all other Labour MPs the nod to whom they should next support as they're favoured prime minister.
All Mandy has to do is wait for an agreeable MP to stand down on a safe seat in the knowledge that a peerage could be in the offing for anyone willing to bend over far enough.
I'll have to read this again just to make sure I'm not having a nightmare.

It would mean the Scots would definitely vote for devolution.

Re: Heaven forbid, but could it happen ??
It won't make much difference to us anyway. If, as expected, the Tories win the GE, Cameron and, especially, Clarke, will be gung-ho to do a Mandelson on us. We'll just have to bend over and take our medicine, whoever's coming from behind.opgpat wrote:Yeah it's possible. Expect the newly-privatised Royal-TNTMail to have a certain Lord Mandelson on its board, however.
