Is this it?
DISPUTE UPDATE: PLEASE GIVE THIS MESSAGE THE WIDEST POSSIBLE CIRCULATION: royal mail is claiming that we walked away from talks. This is not true. It is also not true that there was an agreement. The union submitted a set of proposals yesterday morning that royal mail had still not responded to at 5 last night - in fact they still have not responded to those proposals. There is no split on the pec. They are 100% behind the industrial action. Royal mail are still insisting that we sign up to a pre xmas no strike deal. They are also still refusing to compromise on any of the issues at the heart of the dispute. Royal mail are likely to continue with their lies over the next few days to try and undermine the union and paint us in the worse possible light. We will keep you updated on the real facts.

Most True alan84
The 4 day strike of 2007 boosted the number of people going in at my place.
We have a couple at our place and it would have ment then both losing 4 days wages, four fiths of their total combined weekly income would have been gone.

1 day per week could drag this till xmas and maybe beyond. We are almost clear at our DO so the effect of 1 day out is not long-lasting.
2 days per week, though tough, would see this over sooner, possibly 2weeks - so only 4 days total.

Now we're all out we've got to keep the pressure on and if it means more days out then so be it, NO one can afford this strike but we will all loose a lot more money next year if we let them win.
Don't give in if longer strikes are announced think of the long term.

I'd rather have Lockheed deliver the mail than ride around in a plane built by the post office

Re: The PEC have released a statement..........
Crucial time ahead in the next few days for the Union. We really need to push the stories of lies and deceit that RM are throwing up, also the fact that we are fight to maintain a publicly owned PROFITABLE UNIVERSAL POSTAL SERVICE. The Profits of the peoples post office must stay in the hands of the people not private, multi national and foreign companies. We are making a stand to end the cycle of Privatising Profits and Nationalising Debt.
Only Political pressure will solve this dispute so we need to get this message across and maximise the public support we have, it is encouraging that Lady Mandelson has been very quiet this week and Crozier has disappeared of the satelite once more. Have you noticed how Gordon Brown and the rest of the politicans keep a low profile when their desires conflict with that of the General public.

Re: The PEC have released a statement..........
Its goood to get the truth fro the CWU.
Very worrying,If we loose ,each and every one of us could have very serious problems either through work load, working hours if we are still lucky to have a job or compulsesary
Redundancy, but by the same time to continue to loose money possibly 2 days is worrying.
Just wish the truth was in the Media.

Re: The PEC have released a statement..........
I think the functions going out should be switched around, splitting drivers from mail centres maybe, I really don't think that 400 mdecs on strike tomorrow is going to cause a lot of disruption
