on facebook yes they do have to be your friend but other sites ie bebo, if you have not set the privacy options correctly all and sundry can see your profile and comments, so bit of advice for everyone, check your privacy settings on whatever social network site you use

it's quite easy to change to - only friends instead of and Network on Faceache . Obviously RM / The IB are banking on people being a bit lacksadiasyical and might argue that you purposefully made things too public hence justifying their " inflammatory " or " personal attacks " stance .

As far as RM are concerned , they've got someone out of the door , the boxes have been ticked , it doesn't matter if they've got to pay wages for nothing as eventually there will be a Stalinist Show trial and dismissal . RM will hope that'll wear people down and deter people from going to Tribunal . Even at a Tribunal they can play trench warfare and pay for expensive barristers or solicitors .

Even if RM lose a tribunal , if there's one legal point or previous case point they'll appeal to EAT ( Employment Appeal Tribunal ) as they know the Union / the aggrieved can ill afford to go down that road .

Even paying a settlement is cheaper than paying somebody up .

Sounds like the 10% rule applies to them too, except instead of 10% annual savings they have to dismiss 10% more people each year. They have to justify their job somehow the leeches.

as I've said there's obviously orders from on very high to make a example of someone & soften people up - In 2007 it was sacking and suspending people for posts on here - RM buckled as soon as the Tribunals were due and the press had the details , today it's Faceache or Bebo , as far as RM are concerned it's a means to a end .

Just tighten up your Security in Profile and get rid of all those daft quizzes , games and apps .

Don't get me wrong , the IB would be better off catching thieves and mail dumpers . I thought they were overrun and short handed ? .

It always suprises me how people assume that no one else is reading what they put on social sites!

I know what you mean.... why do people put things on sites such as FaceBook if they don't want them to be read. Once it goes out on the net it is in the public domain, be careful that it doesn't come back to bite you.

If you say 'Royal Mail is a s**t company' can they do you for that? It wouldn't be lieing would it, and bringing RM into disrepute? Most people think it's s**t already!

Aren't RM management bringing Posties into disrepute by saying we use Spanish practices to stop them making us work the hours we are paid for? Makes us look really bad and is a lie. They can't have it both ways.

A statement of fact is under Mr Crozier Royal Mails annual accounts are very topsy turvey, the profit figure is all over the place.

I've only once been on Faceache after my grand daughter sent me an email telling me there was a message for me.

Some time later my son asked me why I was on Facebook, apparently someone had created a profile etc of me without my knowing about it.

Frankly, I believe these so-called social sites should be closed down. They seem to attract some very dubious buggers who may have equally dubious intentions Not least those who entice children etc . . .

Only thing ive posted is bbc and sky links with updates of dates.Funnily something the union should do a lot quicker!
But as for making it personal,never! ive seen at close hand how managers use these things to catch people.
Just dont say anything,be careful what and who you say it to in work as well.
