aye we got to keep up the strikes but i hope everybody realises what we are up against.The government and royal mail are willing to cost small business hundreds of millions of pounds and royal mail itself is also hell bent on chucking bucket loads of cash down the 'chuntie' rather than recognise the union and let its staff have a say in the place where they work.
If this dispute was to be settled on a rational fair basis we would win hands down but it dont matter how many of the arguments we win we are fighting against a political philosophy that has its sights set on us.We in the CWU say royal mail are managing decline,we have not had one concession out of them and our only choice left is strike action.So the question is how much money is royal mail and the government willing to spend to get rid of the union and how many of us are able stay out long enough to make them think again.

This will probably be the outcome if it continues the way it started, its a fight to the finish.
Personaly I think royal mail wants later deliveries to for all businesses to pay a premium to have their mail delivered earlier, generating more revenue for royal mail with privated customers suffering in the long term. Also I would like to know what business conections the minister without responsibility and his mate crozier has with tnt, as I suspect their agenda is to run royal mail into the ground and say it no longer aviable business for the goverment to run and flog it off to tnt, Mr mandison could quite easiler be out of a job next year come the general election nice little directorship line up perhaps. He is a bitter man since the CWU defeated his part privatetisation plans, which is why I think royal mail are digging there heals in and welcomed the strike and wanted them. If you cast your minds back to last christmas when a story broke about royal mail wanting postmen to walk at 6 mile per hour, this was all denied at the time, but it is being employed in my office. They are saying we can do 6 hours walking in 3 and a half hour its about time all this became public knowledge as well as all the other local issues that lead to local calls foir strike action. We need a bnational agreement on how long we are to walk for and how much distance need to be covered in that time. As we are being told you will walk for as long as we tell you and if you don't do it in the time we say we are not paying you the over time. all ther figures are wromg and when they do test the wlks they have redesigned they are fiddleing the figures to suit them selves.
