Do you allways let others fight for you as what ever we may achieve out of this dispute you will benefit aswell dont you think considering everythink that your actions could be deemed as selfish.

I hope to avoid having to suffer the looks from fellow union strikers, by working in another office. If they want to strike, that's fine by me, I won't hold it against them  .

I just want to work, not oppose my good friends at the office who are in the union and doing what they think is right. If I wanted to oppose them, I would simply breeze through their picket line and stake my foolish claim on the mail room floor, as if I knew better than them. Well I don't believe that I do know any better than anybody else caught up in this industrial action. So I'll just go about my business on Saturday, if it comes to that, and hope not to be recognised.

I AM a postie, but perhaps just not in the regular mould. I find this strike very frustrating and off-putting. I am angry with both sides, and just wish they would let me get on with the job of delivering mail, as I have been happily doing for the past 17 months, while there is still the demand out there for posties. I didn't join the Royal Mail because I agreed with their terms and conditions of employment, I joined because I wanted to deliver mail. I can see why my actions may be deemed as selfish by some, but I think that selfish is the wrong word. It's more that the challenge of completing my round in the time permitted is enough for me, and motivating myself to achieve this is more than enough for me. Focussed, I think, is a more suitable word, on the job at hand. Single minded, yet not in the fight. Refusing to be distracted by the noise in both ears. Carrying on as if nothing is happening, and hoping not to get caught in the cross-fire. Not in the union. An easy target... help.

We do not hate Royal Mail we hate the current leadership of Royal Mail and we have no faith in their ability (or desire)to give the general public the first class service they deserve and which we wish to provide. The changes we have seen over the past few years have led to a decline in our working conditions (not acceptable) a decline in the service we provide (not acceptable) and people pocketing huge bonuses (sometimes fraudulently) on the hard work of others (not acceptable). We voted to go on strike to try and reverse these trends. All the indicationa are the general public support this.So why don't you?

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

if i read your post correctly you have been a postie for 17 months :hmmmm some of us have been in the post office for a great number of years,i have seen this job go from being a service too a pathetic bussiness.i used have pride in the job,but royal fail have taken that away from me over the years.i have been through sevaral strikes over the years, and without the masses taking a stand we would be further in the s**t simlpe as that.but then you no nothing quite clearly by your selfish attitude :arrrghhh but you will be more than happy to take what we may acihve from making a stand.are you a member of the CWU???

Peejay go on http://www.cwu.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and join the union its very important you do this.

You said in your post you hope not to get caught up in things but if R/M get there way you will be caught up as your working day will change beyond all recognician.

Remember one thing crossing the picket line and becoming a strike breaker will live with you for the rest of your days can you really live with yourself knowing this.

At least you have been honest in your posts but be true to your self and seen as your not in the union go sick on saturday at some point someone from your office will get wind of you being a strike breaker then it will be your fellow workers sending you to coventry .

Please join the union you can do it online at the web address ive put up none of us want to strike but it is the only way we can protect the future for everyone consider this and then tell me you think its rite to cross a picket line regardless of whether its in your office or another .

I got it now. I break the strike and sneak into another office in the back of an unmarked RM van wearing a false beard and my own clothes. i then don't upset my own colleagues and when I'm asked if I went to work i can deny it as it wasn't me at all  Some people have no conscience. If you want to break the strike then that's your choice. But have the decency to stand up and be counted and not sneak around like a mouse :evil/mad
