Of course the p/t staff are getting shafted as we all are. I am full time but I recognise the problems they have.I do not think the "them and us" attitude of some helps.
Divide and rule is the oldest trick in the book.
And on the picket line we are as one.

I've got about 200 kill offs sitting on top of my frame, don't know where I'm going to find time to do them
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

If you struggle with the work load in this company you are instantly 'incompetant'. Ironic that when you realise all the problems we face from pension black-hole and market liberalisation to Bullying and Harrassment and lack of investment are down to our incompetant managers or their political masters.

Do you not have a fire on your picket line?

It's no wonder there is so much disagreement between offices, in relation to the percentage of people who work during strikes. I have 3 redirections currently, because my round mainly consists of elderly folk (who don't move anywhere, they just well...die) and it's rare that I get a full bag of packets a day, and those I get are normally vitamins :nana

It seems some of you have it really bad, but I can see why people are scabbing as some people obviously have it easy (myself included) and don't realise that a lot of you are being shat on. It will come to us all eventually and I respect my union's decision totally to strike (and again I will be on the gate this weekend), but I can't pretend I'm hard-done-by.......yet.

It might not be the aim of partial PT workforce (the reasons are logistical) but the way the work is unfairly dished out it certainly is happening. Only half rounds in our office have been pagasised. How's that for divide and rule.

Hi Lou, you hit the nail on the head there. In our office every delivery round used to be good, then it became about right, then a bit more was added, then in came pagasus. It's a matter of time for those lucky remaining few. This dispute is for everyone and those that have it good have the most to loose!

Exactly. The problem is, without you guys letting it known, through the media and sites like this, some offices would wonder what all the fuss is about, hence a lot of them work during strikes. Royal Mail have managed to divide the workforce through local agreements which is why the support for action is not as great as it should be.

We will all ultimately suffer unless we make a stand now.

SPOT on. Local agreements should NEVER have been accepted. Local bullying more like.

A few years an estate in my area was knocked down - it was a council estate and they levelled about 400 houses. The council paid for the redirections, at one point the duty holder was doing more kill offs/redirs for addresses that had gone then he was actually calling at. His delivery lasted about 1.5 hours on a bad day but took about 3 to 4 hours to prep. :dance :dance :dance :dance :dance

bollocks

but part timers are treated like sh!t by management taken advantage of etc all our part timers were on 5 hour contracts and it was full timers that fought to get them on 25 hour contracts and a 5 day week in our office
