Postman dumps veterans parcel in his wheelie bin
FORMER soldier Arnold Williams came home to find a "Sorry, you were out" note telling him: "Your parcel is in the WHEELIE-BIN."
When the 62-year-old fished it out, he found it covered in SLIME and festering vegetation, with the box DECOMPOSING.
Arnold had ordered some specs for his daughter from Glasses Direct. He went away for the weekend and returned to find the binned parcel, which was ruined.
In the week Royal Mail was rocked by strikes, Arnold said: I can't imagine what the postman was thinking. I could have been away for longer.
"Why didn't he just leave it with my neighbours?"
Glasses Direct have replaced the slimed specs and Royal Mail have launched an investigation.

Happens a lot to me, I'm out a lot, although they tend to leave it in our recycling bin.
I have no issue with it, but maybe they should think about setting times to arrive so we can plan to be in?
Our postman never seems to arrive at the same time everyday, I can push work till a later time but generally have to be out the door by 10 latest. There have been times it hasn't arrived till about 3/4

He was just trying to do you a favour you miserable old git. You'd have been the first one to complain if he'd taken your parcel back to the office and you then had to drive down there to pick it up, only to find out it's shut, because you didn't read the office opening times on the card. Or he left it with the wrong neighbours who nicked the parcel and denied he gave it to them. This isn't news.

He was away for a weekend and the box had started to decompose? Who covered it in slime if there was nobody in the house to throw anything on top of the parcel?
Lying old fart.

Re: My post wheelie stinks!
the postie is to blame for putting the parcel in the wheelie bin ..
the bin man is to blame for not emptying the wheelie bin correctly ..
the council is to blame for insisting that wheelie bins are used ..
the government is to blame for insisting on its green policy that requires wheelie bins ..
the country is to blame for voting in this current government ..
... the 'blame game' can go on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on

Should have gone to Specsavers reminds me!
I used to collect packets of specs and lenses etc from them in Stevenage a few years ago but they changed their deliveries to EXPRESS DAIRIES
Is this still the case?

Infact there is a facebook group called don't buy the news of the world or Sun, we should all go on there, and slag them off, just like they are doing to us

Find this one hard to believe. Where's the photo of the 'veteran 62 year old'? Looks like they sourced a form-left card and made up the rest.

Re: My post wheelie stinks!
It because isn't true, just like the other story they ran a few weeks ago, about mail piling up, and than they removed the story, the unfortunately problem is the dim wits who buy this paper believe anything they sayopgpat wrote:Find this one hard to believe. Another example of why we should never leave packets in a bin.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?
