Very well putMoNkEyBoY wrote:Michale J as your a customer and trying to run a successful small business we are all sorry for the distruption being caused at present.
Are you aware of the true facts surrounding our dispute and do you understand them.
If Royal Mail get there way you will be receiving your post very late in the afternoon a lot later than what you may be experiecing now. Unless you decide to pay £3,000 a year to have the priveldge of getting your mail slightly earlier.
As your a small business do you treat your staff with respect or do you treat them like a second class citizen and talk to them like they are dirt on your shoe. Or do you treat them with dignity and respect and talk to them as thoe they are worthy of being on this planet. We have none of this do you think this is an acceptable way to treat hard working staff .
Money is the last thing on our minds regarding this dispute but unfortunately the way the media have portrayed it everyone thinks that it is.
Do you threaten to take your staff off pay if they say they cant work late and would like to finish on time. Do you expect them to work past there time or do extra work for nothink ( we are)
Do you agree working practises with your work force and keep to them or do you break them as soon as it suit you to as this is what Royal Mail do to us.
Do you stand on the shoulder of your workers telling them they are not working fast enough and if they dont pick up the pace there off pay R/M do.
We are trying to protect the future of the Royal Mail not destroy it nut if we allow Royal Mail to do as they please there will be not postal service. We have not taken the matter lightly to stage a number of strikes but what do you suggest we do. Unless your work inside the business its very hard to put across exactly what we go through on daily basis please bear with us at this very difficult time .Hopefully a resolute will be found very soon.
Excuse me Michael J how dare you??? Child care is arranged for within working hours. But when you are told you have to stay an extra 2 hours with no notice, with other people offering to do it instead, and when you have already worked over by 4 hours that week - that is not reasonable. I would not tell an hour before they are due to finish 'you have to work an extra 2 hours today even though you have already done so all week'. If you think that is fine Mr J - then im glad i dont work for you. You plonker.michael j wrote:Hi Concerned. All you have to do is go onto any of the newspapers comments pages - not a biased self congratulating forum like this. There you will see the vast majority are anti the strike. Unlike CWU claim of majority of posties voted 3-1 in favour. Just over half voted and it was about not even 3-1 of the 60%. Work it out out of all the posties in the land about 30% voted in favour, the rest either did not vote or did not support it. But as usual you skew the figures to support your doomed plan of keeping customers by delivering no service. Myhermes now offer £3.60 post UK wide for up to 2kg. This is exceptionally competitive to Royal Mail and time is running out. The more you drive away the cheaper the economies of scale for these couriers become and eventually they will compete on price and scale - THEN WHAT - you will be finished which would be an awful shame but totally self inflicted.
One other point I keep hearing you are made to do overtime and no extra pay. Just look at one of the previous writers on here a short time ago, he says the extra pay for late hours yesterday will cover his loss of pay when striking tomorrow. So the constant moaning about unpaid extra hours is undone from one of your own colleagues. Which is it? paid or unpaid extra hours.
Your previous comment as a business owner I looked at today. We all have to make provision for child care or do you want that free or provided just for posties. I was in the Marines for 14 years and when away my partner had to manage a full time job and 3 kids so get off your high horse about a couple extra hours
im not a postal worker. Seems you cant read emails properly. But as you said, there is an alternative postal service nearby so use that to do your job. You say postal workers arent vital so how can them striking affect you. I think you just like to whinge and your whinging makes no sense.michael j wrote:Hi Concerned. I cannot do my job because some w*****s like you are blocking those who want to work. Get a life and do your job you lazy bag of s**t, other wise move over and let someone else do it!
Actually, according to Lord Mandelson - and we can trust him on this because he seems to be the man in charge - 60% of all postal workers didn't vote to strike - so 40% did. Interestingly enough from my calculations around 75% or registered voters didn't vote Labour at the last General Election - so 25% did. If you include non-registered eligable voters (Mandy includes non-CWU postal workers in his figures) the support is closer to 20%. So....the Labour Party have a valid mandate, and with close to DOUBLE the support doesn't the CWU?michael j wrote: Work it out out of all the posties in the land about 30% voted in favour
and yet Michael you are still online even though you find it so boring.michael j wrote:Hi Concerned. I cannot do my job because some w*****s like you are blocking those who want to work. Get a life and do your job you lazy bag of s**t, other wise move over and let someone else do it!
I thought that too, mind it did give me an opportunity to explain about the strike and what we are about, some have wished me good luck including one lady who said she doesn't have a Union at her place and they did not have a pay rise for 3 years, she wants us to give Mandy a bashing.krussel wrote:
