To be honest i am not sure the CWU could afford it
Great idea though
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
same here got fed up in the end and got called a strike braker lol
mind u was still a heavy day dont think last nights strike did a lot starting late the night shift still work
Well I spoke to a man today, the older generation and he said he thinks its going to go the same as the miners He did not really agree with the strikes but I told him a bit about what its like "inside" and about the walks being 2 big to do in the given time etc etc and if you cannot complete in the time you are told your not working hard enough and performance managed!! He then started to change his thoughts a bit
i fear the union are missing another chance hear. why cant they put the reasons for industrial action to press so the public know exactly whats going on with there postal service. Mandy hasnt missed the opportunity to go to the papers to try and pull the wool over the publics eyes. smell the f***ing coffee before you drink billy hayes. Lose this one and the towel might as well be thrown in for ever!!! Get a pair of bolloxs , and stand up for what you believe!!! :mfo
I agree every five mins i had"i thought you were on strike today".Didint finish till 2.45 from 5.45 this morning without a break but ive booked it all as docket which will pay for tomorrow. The funniest thing today was a customer thanking me for coming in to work, his face was a picture when i told him cheers but i wont be in tomorrow.
I felt a bit embarressed on my walk today, got a few strange looks from cars and people walking past. Told anyone that would listen that we're not on strike here till tomorrow.
us lot who's delivery office is based at a mail centre will have all this tomorrow, as we've been on strike today. I agree with the comments on here....surely it would have been easier to just all go out together.
I thanked him for his enthusiastic support, and told him someone would be 'round at about the same time tomorrow who would be a more suitable target for all his abuse.
michael j wrote:What do you expect! You are paid to deliver mail and don't do it. With continued striking I am only hoping that you keep driving more customers away (last night Scottish parliament cancelled £8 million contract) so that eventually you have no customers left and are all where you appear to want to be - not working. Do you really think attacking and damaging your own customers is going to help in any tiny way whatsoever? Really is this what you think - not a very clever plan.
I was part of an anti strike protest at my local sorting office in plymouth today and an idiot from the CWU firstly tried intimidation by standing 4 guys one foot away from me and saying I was on private property so had to leave - I refused as this was rubbish and was supported in this by a local reporter. They then threatened police which did not happen as I was on public property. The idiot then told me I should not be there as this was an internal matter between unions and managers - no wonder we are in such a state when these guys think the national post service is an internal matter- Just a quick reminder - public service - public post - not quite an internal matter.
How to fix problem. Simple really the CWU wants: NO privatisation, NO modernisation, NO redundancies, Lighter bags, Shorter runs, Bullying tackled, harassment tackled (even though I was harassed this morning), No vans on certain london routes, More pay, jobs for life, super duper never ending black hole pension, and Billy Hayes more Pork Pies and a vocabulary expansion kit that goes further than 'it takes two to Tango' Oh and one more thing - a diary so that the CWU can see it is 2009 not 1972.
If the CWU had it's way posties would be delivering mail barefoot, with a Hovis Brown loaf under their arms and a brass band playing.
Stop destroying HARD working small businesses and thinking you can hold the whole country to ransom, because sure as night follows day others will follow, Argos, House of Fraser, Amazon, Scottish Government, Play.com to ransom, John Lewis to name but a few. MORE STRIKES = LESS CUSTOMERS = NO FUTURE
Thank you. Yawn

This practise of staging the strikes in this way must stop.
Firstly you have the drivers who tomorrow will have to cross picket lines at D/OS . We all know that they have done there bit in this dispute and allready taken there action . But they still have to cross a picket line can you imagine how they must feel . If it were me my stom, ach would be in knotts regardless of whether i had allready been out. This is not an acceptable practise and if any you beleve it is well your wrong. Individuals should not be made to feel this way they should not be put in position of crossing picket lines do any of you think they will have a good nights sleep tonight i think not. I back the dispute 100% and my union but this is were the CWU have got it wrong.
The good thing about today was everyone i came across said thought you were out and i didnt mind explaining to each and everyone of them why we were not when we were and what it was all about. The responses i got were brilliant not one person disagreed and said we have there full support. What i didnt like about today was how i felt. I had many a double take of them from people passing in there cars and i felt like a scab i couldnt wait for my delivery to end. In 14 yrs and many a dispute and standing on many picket lines i have never been made to feel like this and as ive mentioned above this lies with the CWU. Did any of you feel like this today do any of you think this is a good way to organise the strikes. I was just waiting for some one to call me a scab but thankfully no one did if need be i would have chased after them i might have bad knees but i can muster up a 100 yrd dash still in record time ( ermm may be not reliving my youth )
MOONLIGHT thanks for your support it really does mean a lot us all cheers dude or dudette
Could not agree more the amount of support I got today i was actualy taken a back the people do care in thier own little way so come on folks dont knock them

if the public are so tired of them, and i presume you are the public, then why are you on here? Futhermore, why did you not reply to the email i sent you from one business owner to another?
