Protect postie's crustBy Brian Reade 22/10/2009
As a schoolkid I had a Christmas job delivering mail in Huyton and couldn't have been more traumatised if I'd had to scrub Jono Coleman's smalls.
I spent most of my time being screamed at by Rab C Nesbitts for not delivering their Giro or chased by dogs. A postie told me to carry sandwiches to hurl at the dogs which would win me getaway time.
By the end of the week I was carrying more Wonderloaf than letters, and packed it in.
I mention this for any scab contemplating being taken on by Royal Mail as a strike-breaker.
Do yourself a favour, use your loaf differently and don't take jobs that aren't yours. If you do, I hope you find the reception on the streets even hairier than the one I got.
