Sorry- Not taken lightly- I was in the union for 15 years and come from a union background. Te decision to leave was hard. I'd like my kids to see a Royal Mail when they grow up ! I'd like them to see a CWU as well - its important. But it ain't happening now !

We ALL want to see royal mail around in the future, but the way things are going it's not going to be. It's the top brass that's killing the business, not us posties.

I saw it and I am fully aware of the manics. Been a fan myself for many, many years.

Yes we need a workforce and union and we are BOTH trying desperately to save the business. Are we not agreeing on the same thing here?

This dispute isnt just about us protecting a valuable service.

Its about the ordinary working man standing up to the machine of greed and corporate corruption and saying no.

This is THE symbol of fighting everything that is wrong in this country.

Lose this and society as a whole is finished as it will send a clear message to the country that its not worth standing up for yourself.

Id rather die knowing i made a stand than die knowing i did nothing.

Keith what exactly is the point you are trying to make? As a non-employee and merely a customer im a bit confused about what you are trying to say or ask? My main concern as a tax payer is what the heck has happened to my money that was given in a loan to RM for new machinery? We gave them the money for technology, they have spent half of it but the technology has not appeared and after nothing to show - their answer is futher job cuts to a service i pay for and is due to go up again next year. Exactly what do the Manic Street Preachers have to do with that. Plonker.

ive actually cried at what happened to the miners and the dockers of this world! but cried with pride and YES we might not win (especially if the tories get in!) but i for one will always fight for a just cause and it is that! and im sick of this attitude that "oh where does this get us,my office is great" look at the rest of the country!!!!...if you`re fellow worker 200 miles away is getting s**t on from a great height is that not a warning sign of things to come?....wake up, this job is f****d but lets look after each other north or south,so we lose a days pay here and there...so f****in what! we are aunion so lets stand as one for what we believe in before we are ripped to shreds!

without wanting to sound radical, the working person doesnt matter anymore. They now are a burden as we stand in the way of profit for big business. That is how the government measure the success of the UK, not employment but by how much money business makes.
I can see it in 10 years time there will be the middle class + and the rest of us (small business owners like myself included) consigned to a life on the dole. As it costs the economy less
