Re: Mark Higson
Clearly Mr Higson is not up to the task. Dreadful people skills, and to preside over such a massive breakdown in industrial relations can only be considered as a monumental failure to manage.

YesIs Mark Higson the worst manager in the history of Royal Mail?
Just to clear something up - there was no agreement.Agreement then he changes he mind over night.
There was a consensus on a "form of words" on which both side of the negotiations could have accepted and therefore the strikes could have been cancelled. The "form of words" was merely a starting point that would eventually form an agreement that would be put to us at some point.

RM openly admit that he was brought in as a Union Buster - he's looking out to be headhunted by another firm and for a nice bonus .DirtyHarry wrote:I don't know about that. What I do know though, from what I've seen of him, and from reading his assinine letters, Mark Higson is a total waynekerr.

http://business.scotsman.com/business/Interview-Mark-Higson-Royal-Mail.5744064.jpDeCarteret says: "The problem is to be an efficient managing director you not only have to have strategic and tactical insight into what has to be resolved, you also have to win the hearts and minds of the workforce.
"I think it is in this area Higson has demonstrated himself to be deficient. He has allowed his organisation to be held fast by the union. And he must be judged on that basis."
CURRICULUM VITAE
MARK Higson joined Royal Mail and was appointed managing director of the company's letters business and to its board in November 2007. The role puts him in charge of the collection, sorting and delivery of more than 80 million letters daily by almost 170,000 postal staff and front-line managers.
Previously he was operations director for the gypsum wallboard company BPB. He joined the group in 1996 and joined the board in 2000 with a remit to cut costs.
He had been a production director of Belmont Weaving, a division of Courtaulds Textiles later becoming chief executive of its UK coatings division.
Higson graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Imperial College, London, and also holds an MBA from the London Business School.
