Stopping these lads' pay MUST be illegal

5th Sept 08

The CWU secured pay-outs from Royal Mail for 27 posties from Streatham SW London who had their pay stopped for up to two days for 'doing the job properly' last August.

It is,but the problem is it takes months and months to get their pay back,seems RM haven't learnt their lesson.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I think the resolution timeline is disgusting. I dare say that RM initially responded by stating that they were "in the process" of resolving the situation which would absolve them of any conviction of wrongdoing in the meantime. I've often thought PFWW management are a bunch of renegade cowboys but they've got nothing on your lot.

YOU HAVE TO WIN THIS DISPUTE BECAUSE THE REST OF THE UK BUSINESS COMMUNITY WILL SEE A BENCHMARK OF HOW THEY CAN TREAT EMPLOYEES.

Streatham is a London DO and they did win they lost wages back.

Apologies.

It would appear i've been very, very badly informed (by a rep) just had conformation from their rep. They were threatened with possible dismisal, however they're back on pay now and have lost no money over it. :)

Feather in our Union cap it would seem.

The CWU has been very supportive from the outset, as im sure Mr W will confirm the Pboro delivery mbrs have a very good local rep. HQ are aware and the PEC member drawn from the branch covering P'boro has been involved.

The branch committee at it's meeting Monday morning agreeed to pay their wages for these members so they would not be out of pocket,

There has been strong support from P'boro trades council and Unsion P'boro branch.
