1. Dont use full address as it can be seen sometimes when scanned to track and trace. Use code for instance 25AT - for 25 Alfred Terrace
2. I use a Form left in place of the special and leave the special in my pouch inside pouching off bag that way no chance of losing it or mis delivering it.

I turn over one of the letters for that address and write SD on the back if its a special ( or if its for say second door two up in a block of flats turn the first letter for the first addressin the flats which wud be usually 0/1 or 0/2 and write SD 2/2 so I then know when I get up to 2/2 I have a special to deliver )
If its a recorded packet I'd write REC PKT if it was a recorded letter i'd write REC on back of the letter
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
Many Post persons have done the same as you. Dont worry about it.......Tell your DOM first thing in the morning, that you have made a mistake...as that it what this situation is. He/She should then give you `sound advice as to how to correct this mistake`. You will prob find that you have delivevered it to the right address but have forgotten to obtain the signature. It has happened before and will happen again.
